I have just purchased a MAB1 Lazer guitar and I love it! I cant believe I managed to find one in the UK for a great price and it looks great. I think only a 100 where made of this guitar so its extra special and signed by Michael himself. Can anyone interprate the serial number? My cd bundle arrived this morning too with a signed poster card! So I have plenty of music to listen to over christmas. Thanks Michael!! Attachments:

US = Un Sung factory in Korea 09 = 2009 Remaining numbers is assigned by the factory. Probably sequential, but may not be number of deans produced, but all guitars. It's a great guitar. To me, it looks like embossed leather. I have a picture of the prototype at Dean HQ from 2009. It was the only one made with a painted (black) neck.

Thanks for the info BKW. Your right, it looks like embossed leather. It just looks so different from any other guitar I have seen and the fact it is autographed makes it even better. I was also wondering about the neck, it's a nice touch painting it black. Thanks for the picture.

I never thought that I could ever be cool! I just wish I could play it as good as Michael and I would be really super cool! Yes, I was very lucky to get this guitar because there are not many around. I only paid £565 for it and its a great guitar. I had thinner strings put on it though recently and my teacher is going to make some adjustments to the set up but it plays really nice. He said he saw Michael play at Wembley one time and knows how good he is, he really likes my guitar too.

Congrats on the guitar ! I have the Aromorflame and Speed of Light finishes and love them both. Have each tuned different so I don't have to mess with changing tuning. The more I play them the harder it is to put them down. Still wanting the Laser and Aviator to add to the collection.

I really like the Aviator as well and the Warrior 7 looks amazing. I do have 2 other guitars. A fender "lonestar" stratocaster in Arctic White and the Dean Thoroughbred Delux in the Trans Amber. I will try and get some pictures up on another thread when I have more time. I love all my guitars.

I also have a few more guitars than the 2 MAB1's. I have a MAB7 Warriorflame, a B.C. Rich-JRV7, Dean Mustaine VMNTX, and a Washburn acoustic/electric.

What a great collection of guitars! The Warrior Flame looks cool. I'm really wanting to get an acoustic myself at some point and would really like a V guitar. I will try and post a picture of my three in the "show me your axe" thread some time this week.

I just bought (probably the last) new Lazer. It is simply amazing. I threw out my girlfriend in the guest room and slept with it. I think Fenders and Gibsons twice the price of this guitar are pieces of junk. Conversely my legato works perfectly on this guitar, [which sounded and felt like giving birth on the Fender]. So it wasn't all my fault. GREEEAT!! I am so excited.

It's great you managed to purchase one of the last MAB1 Lazer's. I really love mine and practice on it 90% of the time. I am learning legato and fretboard tapping at the moment. I also like doing my hybrid picking excercises on it. A good guitar really makes a difference and you can't get any better than this for the price. Im going to start Speed Lives instructional DVD soon! I have almost finished Speed Kills 2010.

The laser etched MAB1 is also one of my favorites. You are right. It was a limited edition of 100. I am not sure however which number of those you have. I have 2 in my collection. Dean Guitars also used this process for a Rusty Cooley signature model that was released within the last few years. Thanks for the support!

Thanks! Nice to see you back. I have seen the Rusty Cooley guitar with the laser etching and it looks great. Maybe I will add that one to my collection in the future too. Do you have any plans to release an electric acoustic signature guitar in the future? I would love to have one and signed like my lazer.
