Ok, I know your speciality is guitar playing but I just wondered if you have had any training as a singer? I'm sure I read that you sang on a couple of tracks on Planet Gemini (although there was not any singing on my copy). Dont you do backing vocals sometimes? Did Jim ever give you any singing lessons? Hope you had a great show in Florida. Thanks.

Michael studied opera in college. Yes, he can sing opera quite well. I've never heard him sing in a rock style and sometimes the two don't necessarily go hand in hand so maybe someone else on this forum has heard Michael sing something in an rock style. I heard Michael sing just a few lines of opera style singing at a clinic at the Victor Litz Music store back in 1993 - when MAB was often wearing Gold's gym attire - that era. He had an endorsement from Gold's then. Maybe Michael will tell you if he actually has a degree in opera or if opera was just part of his studies in earning his music degree (I believe it's a Master's Degree in Music but can't confirm.)

I have indeed heard Michael sing in a rock style voice. In the version of Planet Gemini I've heard, Michael sings on the tracks "These Four Walls" and "So Much to Love For". I have the links from Grooveshark to the tracks with singing. I have heard the instrumental versions, which is probably what's on most of the CDs, from his old MySpace page. Hopefully when he has more time he can elaborate on exactly what he studied to get his music degree and how long he studied for. Thank's for the links Motorbreath. This is the first time I have heard him sing and he sounds pretty good. I really like the Planet Gemini Album, its just so different from anything else I've heard. Im presuming he wrote the lyrics to those songs too. How much talent can one person have!. Cant wait to see him play live some day.
