Michael, I was wondering if you will be having a new signature model out in 2015. I just sold one of my non-Dean guitars. I want to replace it with another Dean and I am looking at the Rocket. Just wondering what you and Dean have in the works for NAMM in January. Not looking for any spoilers just if there is a new MAB(S) in the works.

May I suggest one with a maple fretboard? There are no MAB signature guitars with male fretboards are there? I love the look and sound of a maple fretboard!

OK how about, not looking to see if the Rocket will be available with the Armorflame or Speed of Light finishes. If new models will be out next year I will (try) to wait to see what they will be.

There are no MAB signature guitars with male fretboards are there? I must say that I would also love a guitar with a female fretboard. I'm only joking around, I know it was just a typo.

You caught my typo and turned it into a pretty funny joke. Good job. Better watch out you don't make any typos now though cause I'll be looking for them! On a serious note, this got me wondering if there are any major guitar manufacturers that offer guitars that have a shorter scale length in what is stil a premium quality guitar for female guitarists with small hands, or even for men who have small hands. I'm aware that there are some guitars with necks that are about 3/4 of the length of a normal guitar but as far as I know these are all budget guitars and none are good quality. I wonder, would it be possible to make a high quality electric guitar with a tone heavy enough for playing heavy metal and a neck with a scale of maybe 22 inches? Would tone necessarily be sacrificed in a guitar with a 22 inch scale neck or would it be possible to make a guitar with a 22 inch scale guitar neck without sacrificing any tone?

It is always exciting to see what MAB has in store for us :)I have become a fan of the Hipshot fixed bridges... But, it isn't something he uses/that I have seen, anyway.. I won't hold my breathe to see that one come down the line. But, one can dream, lol. I don't like the height of stop tails, thou, the tone is nice... and don't have the patience for trems anymore. Plus, you don't need 9,000 guitars for every tuning. Just a few, lol. Anyway.. that would be on my wish list for future sig guitars, lol. Oh and satin finishes... love that on necks... such a good feel, lol! on the bodies are nice as well, lol. Blue satin finish would be cool... haven't seen that. It could be out there.. but, haven't seen it just yet, lol. An Ml style body would be cool as well... lol! I doubt I will ever see these things, but, ya never know... just planting a seed. Those are the things my tastes have refined to over the years. I won't hold my breathe... But, would be cool if any/some of it ever became incorporated, lol. Anyway, can't wait to see what MAB puts out next

News Flash... It looks like there may be a new signature guitar based on his FB post this morning:
"2015 - massive tour schedule, new album, new instructional DVD, Guitar World Magazine, new Dean Guitars signature models and more..."
Anyone want to make a guess?
I'll be at NAMM, so will know at the latest when I get there.

I saw that. Can't wait to see what Michael has lined up for us next. He made a comment at the clinic I went to in November about a guitar. When I checked with my local dealer for pricing they contacted Dean and found out that the model I asked about was not a stock model. I am wondering if that may be one. Don't want to mention it and get everyone's hopes up and it not be available. But if it is all I can say is I will have one !! I did go ahead and buy a Rocket. Early Christmas present to me.

it would be cool to have a Dean guitar set up like my armored flame with the maple fretboard scalloped and loaded with coil taps, volume knobs for each pick up and tell knobs for each pickup. finished off with a kill switch and a paint job that looks like a reptile. ( The mab1 scalloped reptile) okay maybe not so many knobs. But that would be an awesome design and if it just so happens. I asked that Michael be so kind to let me have the prototype with his signature. That would be a great conversational piece for the rest of my life. and a challenge for Michael to compose new music on a scalloped neck guitar. And a challenge for myself as well since I've never played on one. This could be epic

So the new ones are up on the Dean website - what do you guys think?
Personally i love the matching headstock and the binding on all 3. Plus the pricing is great - you get a hell of a of of guitar for your money.

Of the new models I like the Trans. Red one the best. May have to make that number 5 of the MAB signatures.

Yeah, I love the trans finishes as well. I think the trans black might be my favorite.

I like the Trans Black MAB3 as well.. Hope to see actual pics of it from you whom got to go. I think moving to a trans finish was a wonderful idea Like the white as well :)I think the binding adds a real touch of class to them as well Awesome Job MAB.. Awesome Even the red is very nice Great prices as well! I saw a MAB3 in red.. the solid red at a pawn shop here the other day... if it is still here I am gonna have to give it ago... and if I really like it... then I will have to move toward these new ones... I didn't realize just how nice the body shape is until I saw it in person. Now, with these finishes... and that binding or whatever it is... I really need to check them out!

All these models look fantastic especially with the passive pickups I don't know why but I never thought of a "white" MAB sig model great surprise at least for me.

I like the "white" signature model with the gold binding. Out of the three this is definitly the one I would go for and the sale price is a bargain. I'm still waiting to see the MAB artist interview on you tube so I can get a better look at them. So far Dean hasn't uploaded the footage yet.

Hell yeah, the white one looks awesome! I wish it had a black ebony fretboard though, white guitars looks best with a pitch black fretboard. I like the "white" signature model with the gold binding. Out of the three this is definitly the one I would go for and the sale price is a bargain. I'm still waiting to see the MAB artist interview on you tube so I can get a better look at them. So far Dean hasn't uploaded the footage yet. Looks like it's just the natural maple top that is revealed at the edges. It's called natural masked binding if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, I think the fretboard would look good if it was ebony. It was a surprise that MAB brought out a white signature guitar as he always wears black. It would be cool to see him do a demo with this guitar.

I used to hate white guitars, makes me think of hospitals and ugly cruiser ships. But my taste have changed with age and I really like white guitars nowdays. However I don't like when they have bright coloured fretboards unless it's a strat, then it can have a maple board and I would be OK with that.
