I wish these forums were like they used to be. How come popularity has decreased so rapidly? Is it social media or something, that's taking over? I feel like I am one of the only people left who still posts here. It's way too bad I didn't become a MAB fan back in 2009, back when there would always be a new post every day. I missed lots of great shreddathons and wished I could be here for them. So i'm just posting here to ask anyone who's viewing this: Why are the forums so unpopular now? Did MAB just recently abandon this place, and soon everyone else followed? Or was it something else? Whatever it was, I just want the forums to come back to life again, and Michael, if you ever get to see this, I just want to ask if you can try to advertise the forums or make them popular somehow so this can become the website it used to be. My main reason is because I want another shreddathon and I want to be apart of it. So please, lets bring back these forums and do a MAB FORUM SHREDDATHON 2018!!

I've heard the excuse that social media is to blame for the decline of his forum but I doubt it. One doesn't preclude the existence of the other.

Yes, I don't even have access to social media and I was looking forward to joining this forum because I would have really loved to meet MAB and discuss many topics about his technique, news about his career, his opinions on other guitarists etc. But now i'm disappointed to see that these forums are totally empty, and that Michael hasn't posted on here in years. I'm at least glad to see 1 loyal member is still here besides me.

I still check in from time to time but yes as with many forums on the internet almost everyone has moved to social media. Michael posts on instagram and Facebook almost daily.

That's too bad. If I get to meet him at the upcoming concert, then I may ask him about the forum.

I don't check in as much as I used to. I agree MAB does post on Facebook almost daily at Friends of Michael Angelo Batio Official. It was started by a forum member and has grown quite well over the last couple years.

I still check in from time to time but yes as with many forums on the internet almost everyone has moved to social media. Michael posts on instagram and Facebook almost daily. What is the supposed advantage social media has for MAB over this site? What can he do on social media that he can't do on this site? I'm curious as to what the advantage is supposed to be. Here he would answer questions from his fans. Is there still that same type of interaction in what he does in Facebook and Instagram? It seems to me the hard part would be getting the site built. After that, it's simple. He would simply interact with fans including answering questions when he had the time to do it. The last time I seem to remember MAB doing anything with this site was approximately a year ago, back when he was trying to get donations from fans to fund his new Nitro album - the album which still hasn't been released. I don't know what happened with that, but whatever the fact of the matter may be, it could appear to his fans that he took their money and ran rather than delivering on the Nitro album which was the specific reason they gave him money. I don't know if his fans who gave him money for the purpose of funding the Nitro album (which apparently at least one and maybe several record companies offered to fund but Nitro wouldn't take their money because they wanted to do the album their own way) were ever given a refund. I don't have a personal stake in that issue since I'm not one of the people who donated money to fund the still unreleased Nitro album, but strictly from a public relations standpoint, I have to say that after asking for and receiving tens of thousands of dollars from his fans and then disappearing from his own forum after not delivering on the album the money was meant for certainly doesn't look too good does it?

I'm starting to see a little bit more activity on here. Hopefully that will mulitply and the forums will be just like they used to be!
