When I was younger I was fortunate enough to take several lessons w/ the great one MAB. He was truely awesome, and inspiring. I remember that in the early 80's he did an unaccompanied solo called "haunted house" for Mike Varney of shrapnel records. It was on one of varneys' US metal albums. I used to have it on vinyl, but I do not anymore. Does anybody have an mp-3 of this intense shred-o-rama? I'd love to hear it again. -Take care -Peter Nicholas

It was an intense experience studying for the brief time I did w/ Michael. He's a real motivator. And really likes to push people to the "next level" Just by watching him play in front of me I learned alot as well as the "topics" he taught me, and time spent was priceless

Hi Pete. It's good to hear from you again. As far as "Haunted House"- yes, I was discovered by Mike Varney too and was on Shrapnel Records, like Yngwie, Paul Gilbert and so many more great players. Soon after that I got signed to a major label, Atlantic Records, with the band "Holland" and then "Nitro".

Does anybody have an mp-3 of this intense shred-o-rama? Willjay has one, he sent it to me some time ago. Cool solo, although the tone isn't the greatest.

Or maybe post a link to where we could purchase it? I'm sure blondie, if he ever gets the time, could find it somewhere.

Yeah, The Haunted House was Mike`s first ever official release, in 1982 on the shrapnel records release "U.S. Metal vol. II". It was recorded at Bill Schnieder Studios, Hanover Park, Ill.
Shawn Lane also had his first ever official release on one of that same series, `U.S. Metal vol IV`, in 1984, with the track `Stratosphere II`. I have U.S. Metal vol. 2, 3 and 4.
