Whoa what's going on there? Did they put that neck on another guitar and call it a MAB tradition? Is it a knock off? It doesn't have the same fret markers, and none of the other MAB tradition models I've seen had a pickguard.. Oh and you're right the headstock shape is completely different.
Is it a prototype or what?

Enlighten me, what even is an MAB tradition?
Perhaps it's a fake?

Enlighten me, what even is an MAB tradition? Perhaps it's a fake? Before MAB was signed an enforcement deal with Dean guitars (approximately 9 years ago), he had an endorsement with 'Tradition Guitars' who made some signature MAB models. Just like Dime, who started playing Deans; MAB was a Dean player in the 80's and had to find another company when Dean disappeared for about a decade.

He just needs to carry Deans after he cleans out all his old Traditions of which he was a dealer at one time: www.moellermusiconline.com/m-441-tradition.aspxHe claims it's 'NOS' but.... "ONE SMALL DING ON THE TOP/EDGE (SEE PIC 4) ALONG WITH SOME SLIGHT PLAYWEAR ON THE CLEARCOAT.."

I have one of the MTM2's... red like yours. I absolutely love the guitar. The neck feels excellent I have come to love the benefits of a stop tail ;D the pups are excellent like you said and very versatile it is a beautiful guitar no probs with it going out of tune It is an awesome guitar Any clue as to how many of these bad boys were made? I once had an email from Tradition that told me these were really rare and weren't publicly sold and what have you, but they never did tell me how many were made. I believe they were originally supposed to go for around 800 or so. Well worth the price, IMO. But, I have slept since then. I wish I still had that email. I guess some guy got lucky and found one at a guitar shop new for 400... but I know that wasn't what they were supposed to go for had they made it to full production which they never did. Since his review is the only one standing it has decreased the value of the guitar. I'd like to get some proper info on the rarity of the guitar and estimated original pricing to clear up where that dude got lucky. Hopefully it will bring back some value to this wonderful guitar. They got this guitar right!!! Edited to add pics of mine

I've talked to Rudy, who owns Tradition. He mentioned that there were 70 of each color for the MAB MTM2s -- there were 3 colors: blue, red, and natural . So 3 colors x 70 = around 210 MAB MTM2s. I don't know how many regular MTM2s were made. They were made from 2002-2004. I'm guessing around 300-400. The "No Boundaries" superstrat copy (quilted) had around 70 made. Retail prices on the MTM2 and No Boundaries sigs were around $600, and brand new street price could be found at $400. You can now pick them up for close to $200.
They are rare guitars and also very fine guitars, but the market doesn't really care about them. The prices definitely won't go up in the near future. There really isn't a demand. Tradition stopped making the MTM series, but may start it up again.

It is to bad they are lacking in attention. They are great guitars... But I guess you have to have a big name to get the deserved attention. Had these been released with Fender, Gibson or something they would be worth a mint. Especially with the limited release and all. I wasn't aware there was a natural finish as well. Cool! Oh well, the guitar is worth allot to me and that is what counts!

MAB is playing one for a short bit in the first Speed Kills -- Natural quilt. Fast forward to about 1 minute (after the amazing double guitar solo).

Aww yes OK. Been a while since I have watched that vid. I remembered him playing A natural wood guitar in it... just didn't realize it was the MTM2. Interesting that you posted that vid, thou. I was planing on working with that vid again today for the time in lord knows how long for something to do... since it has been so long since I worked with it.
