Just got my blueburst ML back today after having the Dimarzio Super 3 put in the bridge and the Liquifire in the neck. I was a bit hesitant, having two fairly "middy" pickups in a mahogany guitar, but the Dimarzio Pickup Picker returned those continuously when using different search parameters. However, I am very pleased with the results. The Super 3, with some gain dumped on it, sounds very similar to the DMT Baker Act. Very thick sounding. Dropping the tuning reveals it to also be a formidable metal pickup, making my pinch harmonics squeal with ease. The Liquifire also delivered. Very fluid sounding. A bit hotter than the HWS pickup, but just as thick and clear. ALMOST too hot for my taste, but is still classified as a medium-output pickup. You can really tell its meant for speed picking. A little muddy sounding for sweeping, but of course it is ME playing through a poopy Peavy Vypyr amp. All in all, I would reccomend both of these pickups, especially the Super 3.

Nice review man. Glad you're happy with the new setup. I'm sure it sounds killer!
Do you think those pups are better suited for a mahogany guitar than the HWS/Baker Act? I ask cause I was thinking of installing the HWS/Baker in a mahogany body/neck guitar, but I wasn't sure how they'd sound seeing as MAB's sig model has an alder body.

MAB has a Dean Razorback Explosion thats mahogany and has the HWS/Baker Act setup. I've never seen him play it but maybe he will contribute to this. However, I do believe that most of his mahogany guitars, such as his ML and his Hardtails, have Dimarzios. I know his ML has Super Distortions in it, but as for the Hardtails, I'm unaware exactly what are in them. I honestly think the HWS might sound somewhat muddy in a mahogany guitar, but then again I'm no expert.
