This is something Ive been getting into lately. There are a ton of videos on YouTube of video games (mostly online) with commentary and stuff, and its been entertaining me for a while. Mainly Ive just been watching Assassins Creed online. Here's a couple of the people Ive been watching: Shenmue36 - EscoBlades - I even got a capture device and uploaded some stuff myself. www.youtube.com/user/StuffandThings85Check it out and enjoy!

I've been interested in gameplay commentaries on Youtube for the past couple of years. I mostly follow Call of Duty commentators but do branch out into many other games. I've wanted to upload some myself for a while now, but haven't been able to afford a capture card (plus I'm not sure my computer is good enough to render the video in very good quality). What's your setup?
I watched one of your commentaries and have a bit of advice. I like that the commentary is actually about the gameplay, and not what you had for lunch that day. You almost sound bored in your delivery, though. I'm not saying to go all Ray William Johnson on us, but speaking more clearly can work wonders. At any rate, practice makes perfect, so keep it up!
Just out of curiosity, how does Revelations compare to Brotherhood? I've always played AC for the single-player and just couldn't get into Brotherhood's MP. What's your take on this new one?

Right now Im using a Dazzle to record via S-Video. I have the S-Video going from the PS3 to a VDA, then splitting that to the TV and to the Dazzle (Dazzle connects via USB). Not quite as good as HD but decent quality as you can see from the videos. Brand new it runs about $70 or so, but you could find a good deal on Ebay or Amazon (plus you need the extra S-Video cables) . The Dazzle is the cheaper option, but I am planning on upgrading to an HD capture device (PCI card or something to that effect). Although I have heard the PS3 HDMI output is somehow blocked from capturing like that, Im not sure of thats true.
Also, to capture streaming HD you need a pretty decent computer to handle the video, not to mention the file size and editing the video and stuff. Im working on upgrading my pc to help handle this. I know that EscoBlades uses the Black Magic Intensity Shuttle ($170), which uses USB 3.0 and his computer has 16GB RAM. Im running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (those vids were recorded on a 32-bit system, then I upgraded), 4GB RAM, Dual Processor, saving it all to an external 2TB HDD. So far its working out pretty good.
I like Revelations a lot, but as far as the single player goes, Im slightly disappointed. I think there was too much anticipation and I guess I expected more. But I suppose they did that to save everything for the final game. The MP is slightly easier though. In Brotherhood, it was kind of a nightmare. Those vids from ACB were rare footage of me winning...
Revelations changed a lot about the MP and it definitely gears itself to a different play style, which may explain why Im winning more often now.
And as far as "sounding bored" goes, I guess I'll just have to develop a personality!

This is something I'm really interested in. I'm a video game addict for a while now lol and I wonder if MAB likes playing video games.
