Is this the right place to post this?
Anyways, please explain, why doesnt MAB perform with Satch and Vai at the G3? I dont get it. Malmsteen did it, Eric Johnson did it, and hell...even Herman Li gave a cameo there, why should MAB not do it? He's easily the Renaissance man of this generation, and yet he does not perform with them. What would we fans not give to see all three of them in action in one stage?
Anything stopping you Michael? Surely Satriani would want to perform with you...did he offer and you refused? Why would you do such a thing?

I would not refuse G3. To be perfectly candid and honest, I have not been asked to do it. If I was asked, I would do it. I suggest you write to Joe Satriani and have everyone else you know write him as well. Maybe then, he will include me on a G3 tour. Thanks!  |

Anyone here interested in helping me out? This is the place to request him MAB's involvement with the G3 tours. All you gotta do is to create an account, wait one day for activation and then use the 'Talk to Joe' messageboard. I am awaiting activation of my account myself now, and as soon as it is done, I will make a formal request to the guy and tell him what sheer genius G3 has been missing all these years. All you forummers should join in too. More the volume of requests, the more Joe will take it seriously. Participate. You want this, don't you? |

Not to send any discouragement, but we have tried threw his boards before and it set some of his forumites into kind of a rage. I am no expert at this, but I would think it best to attempt a response from his management or the alike, or maybe even send the man himself a pm. I would love to see this happen! I am willing to go back and send him a pm or something to that effect.

I have analyzed the two possible ways -
1. Request via fanmail - you write a letter and send them to Joe requesting him to invite Michael to the G3. This one is a bit tricky for me as I dont live in the US. This is probably best suited for those forummers who reside in America.
2. Garner support from social networking sites - Facebook, Satriani.com, MySpace, Twitter. I am sure there are many who would give their right arms to see this happen. It is here I can make significant contributions, especially on Facebook.
And Erik, personally messaging him is the best possible way, but do you actually know how to contact him or his management for that matter? All I could look up was his management office's address. Would that help?

Right, well I see what you are saying. I would find a post by Joe and see if pming him is an option. If not then yeah post the suggestion. However, I just want it to be done right. Our enjoyment of MAB is not everyone's. When we start talking in the league of these guys people get very opinionated and judgmental. I would simply post the suggestion and leave it there. I wouldn't get into defending your request or anything or it will spin out of control very fast. Be sure to post in other threads about other topics and join in with them. If all you do is suggest MAB then you will be seen as a troll. I mean this is a good idea and I would love to see it happen... we need to do it smart or it will do more harm then good. Act as if you are going to a friends or girlfriends house and you are trying to make a good impression. Cause, well, you are going into Joe's house  and if the shoes were on the other foot we would expect the same, right? I know nobody tries to start anything.. but it does happen cause people have their opinions then someone gets insulted, then that person feels they need to defend themselves and their opinions and it gets crazy. Just don't get caught up in that is what I guess I am trying to say more then anything. |

I can not remember any of my info from years ago and it seems like there may have been some revamps so, I may have to re register. Another approach that maybe taken is trying to go threw Vai. I know he isn't the main head of G3, but he is a big part of it and he maybe willing to talk to Satch. He has admitted to getting the idea for his heart guitar from Micheal's double. I would like to think that means there is some sort of respect and knowledge of MAB there already. |

as much as i'd love to talk to Steve Vai (He's one of my idols)....
But i think its a bad idea. Contacting Satch is already so hectic. Now if we contact Vai, its sure gonna take up more time. And anyways, i will probably have my account registered tonight (Indian Standard Time), I am going to think of a request and post it within tomorrow evening.

The reason because MAB is not invited to join G3 is that Satriani must rename it to G4 or G6 so it's kinda senseless to him HAIL MAB!!! |
