Kurai Ryōiki translates into 'Dark Realm'. Japanese music has had a profound influence on me. Especially their folk songs, not that J-Pop crap. However, the good thing about J-Pop is, it still retains its folk roots, but I digress.
This song, is one of the first I ever composed, and what I have tried here, is to incorporate all my folkish influences into one song. It ranges from, Japanese, to Arabian Jihadi music. During the end of the song, I employed a Finnish folk singing style called Joka. The entire song is sung in Japanese, it's a beautiful language, and I felt that it would be a perfect fit in this song!
I, however, know that the mixing and the sound quality is third-rate at best. When I uploaded this song, I wasn't too experienced in the intricacies of the mixing process. Pardon me on that account.
I've been playing the guitar for one year, and yet some amount of sloppiness remains, pardon me on that account as well.
Try as I may, I could not classify into one genre, but if I had to call it something, I'd probably name it Atmospheric Progressive Blackened Folk Metal ;D Ha!
That being said, I'd love a criticism of this song. Thanking you for your time.

Firstly I'd like to apologise for taking so long to do this, but I have been extremely busy lately! This was certainly interesting to listen to, I don't think it would surprise you if I said I haven't heard anything like this so I think I might struggle to give you hugely insightful insightful feedback so I'm sorry about that! The vocals definitely creeped me out haha for one! I don't think the intro needs to be as long as it is, especially with your use of repeated harmony and melody. If you changed it up with different scales or chords it might justify a longer intro. I feel also repetition is a present theme so I'm assuming that was a deliberate thing. However when you repeat an idea for long periods you can still add subtle changes instead of playing the same thing over and over. Subtle changes in rhythm, harmony, texture, whatever it may be, helps keep things fresh for the listener. The amount of repetition used might warrant a canon in some places of your song. I think it would suit it a lot like have something played before brought back but played on a different instrument or in a different octave or however you like. I think you certainly achieved an atmospheric sound but maybe some rhythmic outlining would have helped even more with that. There's no strict time signature here, I know there's some 6/8 but just a little bit of percussion might help with understanding the rhythmic feel that you're trying to put across especially if there's odd time signatures or changing time signatures. Percussion can really help the whole atmospheric thing too. I personally love writing songs that sound "atmospheric". Nothing helps more than a bit of reverberated drums/percussion Your song is called "Dark Realm" and I think you certainly got that across : p
