Peeps,
A few weeks ago, our computer broke (needs a new hard drive fitted already- it's only 3 years old!) and a week later the car broke down and is unrepairable.
Due to the car is my parent's primary source of income atm (as many know, we also sell online but that wont start for a couple of weeks) we've had to buy a new one so mending the cpu is down the list at the moment therefore I wont be posting much/at all til then.
Just thought I'd let you know after the last, what 10? times I disappeared. Ha
I'm posting this from an internet cafe the size of my wardrobe fyi.
- Steve

Sorry man. HDD's can be a big pain. You never really know when they'll die. SMART data is useful, but even with perfect readings, sometimes things go wrong out of the blue.
On new HDD's I run a zero write 1 pass, then a write/read test on each block, then check the smart data for errors. Usually this weeds out problematic drives that would fail sooner or later, from the start.
Hope you get up and running soon.
