I think it's helped me in the two way pickslanting that is described. I'd never thought of it in that way before. The only time I used to consciously slant my pick was for sweep picking.

I think Troy did a great job analyzing so many different players in a very unique way. I learned things about my own playing that I never knew before! A big congrats to Troy! :-)

A big congrats to Troy! :-) Wow, that must be an interesting experience - to learn things about your own playing that you ever knew before! Maybe the next time you make an instructional DVD you can explain at least one of these things. That would be pretty cool. I also think Troy did a great job. The idea for that camera that connects to the neck of the guitar is brilliant! It gives such a great view of the picking hand from a valuable angle that has never been presented before!

It's helped me a lot, mentally. Opened my eyes to how I can potentially change things and improve my technique. I don't know if I wanna go through all that just to get some minor things worked out, though, as I'm not unhappy with the way I play. I reckon it's wiser to focus more on developing other aspects of my playing, so that I can feel more complete musically.
But looking past that, I don't know if I've ever seen anyone go that much into detail about picking techniques, at least not since Willjay (Willie Jordan), and the conversations I had with him about picking styles. Troy also seems like a great guy; I shot him an email telling him I had some Yngwie vids lying around that he might be interested in, and he sent a nice letter in response. So yeah, I love the packages, and I'm anxiously waiting the next installments.

At the very least those shows are totally entertaining to watch! Troy did an awesome job on the production. I also find them very motivating. I've definitely learned some licks here and there, like in the Stevie Via Intimidation Lick clip. Very cool show all around!

I have no doubt that nodody has ever so carefully dissected all aspects of shred picking techniques as Trpy Grady - the camera on the guitar is genius!
