I don't know if you hear this from people often enough, so I'd like to say thank you Michael for the great instructional DVDs that you've put out over the years. I have boughten quite a few of your instructional DVDs, most of them actually, and I have always felt they were worth more than they cost. They're an excellent value for the money. I can't think of another famous shredder who has put so much effort into trying to teach his craft to the next generation of guitarists so on their behalf and mine I thank you!

Thank you razorshred! I'm impressed with you too; teaching in a national music institute sounds very prestigious. You must be a good teacher. I have taught in the past when I was much younger. It's nice to have the ability to expose kids to better quality music than they are aware exists. Once, a 19 year old guy who wasn't yet my student but soon would become my student was listening to some crappy music on the radio and after saying I diodn't think it was any good, he asked me: "What kind of music do you listen to"? I replied "Serious music." he exclaimed "Serious music!?!? What is that"? I explained I liked music played by musicians who are virtuosos or at least in an elite level of playing. I mentioned bands which are heavy but also very melodic: Savatage, Queensryche, Crimson Glory, Judas Priest - specially early Priest, Dio, Vinnie Moore, MAB and Yngwie Malmsteen as just a few examples. As he started lessons with me I played this kind of music for him and he began to appreciate the level of skill it took to play this music. He went on to become highly interested in neo-classical guitar especially such as Yngwie, Vinnie Moore, Tony Macalpine, etc. After taking lessons with me for 2 solid years he applied to Berkley and was accepted!

hahahaa i totally understand you blackjack ! And it's a shame here in my country very few people have heard of MAB and the metal scene is very poor and so underrated and it drives me nuts . I consider myself very lucky to have been inspired by Michael and his way of playing the guitar . I also keep trying and push my students to listen to him and buy his CDs DVDs etc . And Teaching i sooo rewarding man ! you learn new stuff everyday and i have like 30 students now and their ages vary between 7 and 50 or 60 ( 2 of the are doctors ) . It's just amazing ! the other thing i want is just to see MAB live or even the slight chance to talk to him for some advises and to know him better , but the obstacle is that i live so very far away from him and his concerts are mainly in US now . I am trying however my best to come see him !!!
