Just wondering if anyone has ever heard Chris Impellitteri's version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"?
What did you think of it?
Also, if anyone has tabs for this song, please please please send them to me, or if you know how to play it, it would be greatly appreciated if you could transcribe it, even though im sure it would take about an hour.
Theres one site on the web that has tabs for it, and its only for about 10 seconds of the song.

Awesome song, no idea of how to play it. The main part is just the normal song though, that part should be easy to learn, the shred parts...good luck!

Yeah, I wouldnt be able to play it. Not the shred parts anyway. I just wanted to look at the tabs and see how crazy it looked, and learn some of the easier parts. Anyone think a tablature book of his would have this song in it?

His album 'Screaming Symphony' is by far his best work, imho. It's a 'must buy' Chris is a really nice guy, btw. He emailed me a few weeks ago as a matter of fact. He's currently on song 14 in the writing stage for either the next Impellitteri disc or his new band.

As are most shredders who followed Yngwie in the 1980's and early 90's. Yngwie was the originator of bringing virtuosic, classical violin type lines to heavy metal guitar music. That's why to this day Yngwie is the best known of this genre and one of the few millionaires in this genre. This happens in most genres of heavy metal. Metallica was one of the first to play in the thrash style and to this day are the most successful band of their genre. Megadeth was also one of the originators and they are probably the second most successful band in this genre despite the fact that these bands made their debut over 30 years ago! No bands on the past 30 years have eclipsed Metallica as the leader in their genre despite the countless bands who have tried to rip-off or copy Metallica's sound. The same can be said of AC/DC and Black Sabbath. AC/DC originated their style of hard rock and to this day they are the most popular band in that style. Black Sabbath was the first of the doom metal bands and today are still the best known, most successful band to ever play doom metal. Very, very rarely does anybody outdo the originator at what they do best!
