He likes him musically, just not personally.
But there are loads who can't stand Yngwie personally, it's not exactly an exclusive club!!

Willjay, try to clock something from the Outworld CD when you get a chance.
The "outro" lick of the solo in the song "The Never" sounds very fast, maybe it's only 14 NPS that too ;D But it sounds very fast.
It's around 4:59 I think.

Cheers for those. Rusty- The reason i asked about this lick was cos i came across an interview with Rusty a while back someone said it was an extreme lick & i wondered the speed. I'll try to find it. Mick- Well i said 16-17nps, not THAT far off (considering i was going by tab. Lol.) & still not bad for a "detuned riffer". Lol. It's clean too (2d part) so he is of a higher level than alot of players , maybe 16th on my You Tube page. Even the first part aint as bad as alot of shredders tbh. Another Rusty lick that people generally think of as amongst his fastest is the guitar only lick in "Under the Influence" before he launches in to the solo.

But speed with cleanliness is the key. I would actually say Cooley is a 15nps alt picker not faster tbh.
I'm gonna take him out of the top 15. I need a replacement though. I might put Kee Marcello in.

Rivera Wtf Have Slipknot's Hypnotic masks taken controll of your mind Rivera LoL, really man it gets worrying when your putting Mick Thomson in Rusty's League. I thought Rusty was your god and your removing him from your top 16 list.

Of alt pickers yeah i am demoting him. I like him allround & i'm not putting Mick in until he releases a solo album, even if his speed was 25nps alt picking. It's not my top 16 players, cos John "Mr Personality" Petrucci wouldn't be in there, but alt picking wise Rusty isn't all that clean.
Kee Marcello is cleaner although slower. The point of the seperation is to split the clean from not so clean hence no Ziras, Impellitteri.
I might buy 1 of their masks! Lol.

Damn right! Lol.
Here's the revised top 15:
1- Shawn Lane RIP- 19nps 2- Todd Duane- 17nps 3- Michael Angelo Batio- 16nps jt- Tony MacAlpine- 16nps jt- John McLaughlin- 16nps jt- Joel Rivard- 16nps jt- Rick Graham- 16nps jt- Guthrie Govan- 16nps 9- Vinnie Moore- 15nps jt- Paul Gilbert- 15nps jt- Al Di Meola- 15nps 12- Jason Becker- 15nps jt- Scott Stine- 15nps jt- John Petrucci- 15nps 15- Kee Marcello- 14nps
I don't see how Cooley can go in there tbh, cos his E.B.E lick doesn't sund all that clean which led me to believe it was him at full pace.
Plus, there are players Willie has yet to clock like- Shane Gibson, David Chastain, Victor Smolski, Sam Yelda, Borislav Mitic, Dave Atherton, Matthias Eklundh, Michael Harris.
Klaus' boy Conrad Simon is above Cooley cos he is very clean @ 13nps, when Cooley isn't all that precise at 1nps more.

has anyone clocked any of the (Personae) album ? y is jason becker in ur list ? he isn't that clean guy. He was clean when he wasn't jumping around. Like a few guitarists, even in the studio he was like he was on stage & no-one who does that live is super clean. Even the best of the best- MAB, Duane, Lane, McLaughlin, MacAlpine etc stand close to stationary when they are doing their fastest stuff. Becker was clean most of the time, although i have seen vids when he wasn't, but that was cos of the moving around. Plus if i take him out, i have no-one to put in. Unless 2 super clean 15nps alt pickers come along or Willie finds they have to stay cos a top-10 isn't that informative IMO.

yes same thing with Malmsteen, he's jumping around, throwing his guitar and picks etc. He also plays better when he's sitting or standing still ;D which he never do btw!!

He records alot sitting down.
I think it should be 2 extremes.
Sitting down in studio making it perfect. You can still ad personality to it, but it's clean.
Live being yourself, you may lose cleanliness but who cares!!

Lol, wow, Steve a few months ago you said you'd rather stand still and play clean than jump around live, =P.
IMO recording should be done sitting down. To get that perfect take.

Well for solos & high tech stuff yeah.
But i mean for the players with high technicality (like Joh Petrucci), he doesn't move off the spot. He is SO boring to watch & that comes out in his playing too. I'm sure everyone knows he is a clean player on all techniques, so IF he is a touch soppier live, no one would mind. But for solos i would stand still. I hate the Janick Gers approcah cos he can play like a bastard but he runs around like a nutter!

Joey Tafolla?
Are you guys drunk or something?
I think he's mediocre at best.
With Gilbert & MacAlpine mentoring him, he should've done a better album than "Out of the Sun" IMO, cos that is a very average album.
Paul Gilbert i think is alot better than Bouillet too. On the "Second Heat" album, Paul pretty much wrote it all and said to Bruce "Harmonise It".
