Here are some LICKS from the absurd solo in HOODED STRANGERS... (1st song off of the JENS KEYBOARD ALBUM which Shawn plays on)... I will post more soon, there are more crazy lines, but I havent been able to get the correct fingering for a few yet... even these, if you can find better fingerings, I solute you! Anyway, shawn used alot of mixed groups, 4's 5's 6's etc... and also, alot of 1 note per string licks (hammers from no where)... so good luck as this is pretty much all impossible to play even at half tempo.

That is the easiest lick in the whole solo... the new one I just uploaded is probably the hardest... (updated the JPEG)

The enlarged JPEG doesn't come out for me.........
But i know the song since i've got "Fission" & recommend that album for Jens' keys playing.
Do you like "Heavy Machinery", Bet?

I got it to work!
Don't know how.
Those licks aren't as hard as they seem..................................................
............. yeah who the *** am i kidding? Lol.
The hammers from nowhere i'm actually pretty decent at because in the book "Speed Mechanics for Lead Guitar" by Troy Stetina, it has some of those licks (simple ones in Am), but i enlarged on them.
The hardest part of any Lane lick is trying to get the same phrasing he has- even at half tempo.
That was Lane's best asset IMO- being able to phrase sequences within a large lick @ warp speed.
Lick #5 on that image is gnarly. Fuk me, that's gonna take some practicing! Lol.
(I love a challenge though....)

By any chance does anyone on the forum still have a legible copy of these licks? The copy I have saved is way too small to actually make out the tab. Thanks
