Hello MAB. I was wondering about scale modes and keys. When someone says a G major scale in the key of C or something like that eg: locrian mode in the key of d, what does this mean? And what is octaves in a scale? Thanks MAB.

If you tell me where are you playing those notes i can tell you if they are octaves but just an example of an ocatave if you play on the six string first frett the first octave will be on the fourth string third frett.
