First of all, Hi to everyone,
as I was watching "Speed Kills", Michael's Statement that he is "originally left-handed" caught my attention.
I wonder what hand Michael uses for writing. Also, I'm very amazed by his ability to play both right and left-handed. I would like to know how Michael was influenced to play, and perhaps even write right-handed though he was left-handed. Michael, does your left-handedness affect you in any way that is striking to you? What do you think of it in total?
As I'm left-handed myself, I have suffered strong problems playing right-handed, like headaches after playing longer than some minutes. After all, these problems forced me to give up my guitar playing, since I truely fall asleep when I play longer than 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the problem doesn't solve by simply "switching" to left-handed guitar playing. This effect gradually developed over the last 2 years and was enforced by the fact, that I used to write right-handed at school. Today I'm writing left-handed but the guitar problem has yet not solved.
So you see, that's why I'm so much interested in Michael's story of left-handedness. Thank you all for your patience! Have a nice day Oliver

Not to answer for Michael... but to answer you question to which hand he writes with, I know he writes 'left handed'. You can see that from this picture from Blondie's site:

left-handedness is caused by right-hemisphere dominance in your brain. This dominance is based on your genetic code; consequently this means it cannot be changed. There's quite a number of people who consider themselves to be absolutely right-handed though they're actually converted left-handers. The research for understanding one's lateralisation (which is the phenomenon of one half of your brain being dominant) started in 1985, IMO, it's an extraordinarly interesting subject. P.S. the first post was written by me, just so that you know

I write left handed normally but used to write with both hands. I can still do it just not as good anymore. The teachers I had in school made me stop doing it But I use both hands the same. I throw a frizbee with my left hand and baseballs with my right.

I've been reading research reports that claim that ambidextrous writing is very unhealthy to one's brain. Those reports redefined the meaning of being ambidextrous: being able to write with both hands seperately is not ambidextrous it's a matter of practice.
So be glad you're writing left-handed today, it saves you a lot of trouble...
BTW, people who are truely ambidextrous can write two entirely different things at the very same time; this is extremely rare though (estimated <2% of the population)
Perhaps, Michael is pretty much truely ambidextrous.

Well, actually I don't want to portray myself to appear to be the smartest guy on earth. Other people sharing their knowledge and thoughts has been extremely useful to me and so I just try to contribute my part as well. Perhaps you found it interesting, just as I did, when I read about it.
