hey Mike, I've noticed that you are amazingly clean when you shred, how? Even when I play really slow, I can never get the high E string clean, I'm pretty sure its the way I hold my pick, but I don't know, could you maybe give me a few tips or something? I hate sounding sloppy

I think its also with his left hand fingers... I think he said on an other topic that his fingers of his left hand were the "why" he had a clean sound... Well, we'll see his answer

when you say left hand, you mean fretting or picking ? he plays both ways, so it could be either, lol. I don't know... is it how hard you push down on the notes or the way you pick them? I push down pretty hard, hard enough to leave indenture marks on my fingers...

This ties into frethand muting... if I remember correctly, Michael generally plays open with his picking hand ( by that I mean not palm muted ), and puts more focus into using his frethand to mute strings that aren't in use.
