Hey, Michael... I just registered today. The re-design of the site looks great! It's so nice (and convenient) having the forums, you can learn about and discuss many things, including troublesome musical issues. By the way, have you had the chance to listen to the (WRITHING) demo I gave you at the clinic at Motor City Guitar on May 22? If so, I'd like to know what you think (good or bad) about it. And if you have any pointers... feel free to e-mail me at the band's address, www.writhingmetal@fastmail.fm or my personal e-mail. Just access my account to get the personal e-mail. Also, let me know if you like the website. Thanks again for the support and the free clinic!

Eddie, welcome to the forum. I haven't had a chance to listen to your music yet but I will very soon. I'll post my response here.

I doubt he actually got a chance to listen to it, He probably gets way to many demos that he would be sitting there all year listening to them. Much like the rest of the industry your demo would have to be solicited and go through the proper channels.
Can your band draw 10,000 people? Consistantly fill clubs? Thats is a good start to getting your demo listened to.
Demos are great, but I use them mostly to promote my self and band for gigging.
I hope that he did listen to it and wish you good luck, but professional ettiquette calls for jumping through hoops and paying your dues.

I think that will be decent of him if he does, very rare thing in this day and age. But most of the time unsolicted CD's get tossed out unopened, but this is Mr. Batio if anyone would take the time out to put the effort in for something like an unsolicited demo it would be him.
To the original poster, I see your from MI, tell me a bit about your band. Do you play out? I am from MI. also, my management is seeing about setting up a small tour (may not pan out) would you be interested in seeing if we can get something going for a show?

taylor, in response to your inquiry about my band... we are a cross between death and thrash metal, have about a 30-45 minute set (depending on how fast we play), and we do play out on occasion. I for one would like to play more often, but money for gas and merch is tight when you have to pay for everything out of pocket. We've played venues like Alvin's and the I-Rock. If you want more, visit the website at www.writhingmetal.com. As far as a possible show/tour, I'm all for it, I just have to ask the other guys, and get details from you. Hey Michael, thanks for responding to my post. I'll look forward to the posting of your thoughts...and thanks to everyone for the welcome.
