It is a REAL Ibanez , it the High quality Line of Ibanez If you are talking about that Nevada shop then they are real Ibanez guitars cause i phoned them a week ago curious to buy the Jem7V and i asked if this was a real product of Ibanez and they said yes and that they have all the documents to prove that.

On the original topic, I would personally never dream of buying a Jem 555. Just about every person I've spoke to who owns one of these says it's an absolute piece of junk, and every magazine review I've read mirrors this. They are basically designed as a guitar which looks a lot like the original 7V, but saves money on the the actual build quality. I also think they look pretty awful due to the chrome parts rather that the nice looking gold on the original.
As Blondie said, I would definitely take a look at the RG series in the same price range. You're bound to find a MUCH nicer guitar due to the fact that you don't have to pay to have Steve's name on it

Hmmm, it may be a little late for my 2 cents on things... but- I'm a member of Jemsite, where everybody slates the 555 with a passion, and i tend to agree overall. 1. First of all tho i shall say, the guitar itself is amazing! Just when comparing this to a high end RG, then it slips. The guitar is Korean as opposed to the better quality higher end Japanese RG's, but the neck is the nicest i've ever played in terms of spec, apart from the fact that its finish is nowhere as good as the higher end jems. A big factor for me, just remember every 100 $/ £ is going to little Stevie Vai on that guitar, when of course if you buy a high end jap RG, you don't pay for crap like that, so better gear can be afforded to be put on the blighters. Something that put me off the Jem personally- what do you want to be, a Vai clone??? Make it big in the music industry with someone elses guitar for me would be embarassing, but many may feel different im sure, but you know where im coming from. So overall, I've played a few, the necks are great, and of course the evo pups are pretty respnsive, and of course they look lush Did i mention that you only get half a vine? 2. Doesnt it come with an edge pro 2 trem/ lo trs 2 as opposed to an edge pro/ lo pro? If this is the case which i think it is, definitly dont touch, those trems are evil, the arms don't even stay- in they're all loose and floppy, and they are entirely unsensitive to anything unless you get lighter springs, meaning more expense. 3. Buy a Japanese RG or a real JEM!!!! lol Hope this helps in some shape or form, Kev
