It's like the sustainer You can get in Kramer, Jackson and Fernadez guitars just that You hold it over the strings Never tried one though

I have tried one, they are not too bad but once u put it on the strings it takes about a second for it to make a noise. I think they are kinda pointless, I just use the volume knob to get the same kinda effect.

haha the dildo.
well its not jsut sued for volume, you can get synth sounds of cellos and violins etc through using it, also it 'picks for you' by creating electromagnetic pulses so you dont have to lern any right hand technique, im sure that would make sweeping easier.

For sustain purposes they can work quite well in doing things you cannot do with your volume knob
