Well I was at guitar center the other day looking at my Soloist, when I decided to try out the Satriani signature model, I loved it. But I can't decide which is the better axe! I liked the floating trem. on the Satriani better than the Soloist's, but the Soloist's ebony fret-board works magic for me. What should I do! The price on the Satriani is also much lower! Does anybody have any advice could give me in this tough situation ;D

I can not give any advice on a soloist But I can say I used to own I Satrani when they first came out, and I absolutely loved it!!!!! In fact if I wasn't waiting for the MAB sig guitar I would get the 1200 in a heart beat!!!! The tone is awesome IMO!!! And a very comfortable guitar to play!! But go with what speaks to you and makes you feel more motivated to play. Go with your heart man!!!

I recently found out as well! Actually, I found out when I asked a guy at guitar center what he felt about the two guitars, and he wasn't very fond of Fenders.

Yes Jackson is owned by fender now but they decided to keep the Jackson techs so their quality has stayed the same. I am not being baised as I own an Ibanez also and the jackson is superior. Plus it's made in America all ibanez guitars are made in either Korea or japan. Plus you gotta love the neck through design on the Jacksons

There is no quality difference between a Jap Ibanez and a US Jackson. It's only a matter of taste. What's right for You

My Japaneze Ibanez had to have a fret level done due to the nasty buzzing I had. I also had to fix a little intonation problem. Other than that it was great. My Jackson came ready to play out of the box with no buzzzing and perfect intonation.

It's what ya like for sure. I had an old 80's Jem and loved it. Played like a dream but I prefer a neck through design. Ibanez makes a few model with the neck through and they are awesome. I guess I just love my Jackson too much. My best advice is to play both the same day side by side and make your decision.
