Wow....sounds like some are suffering from GAS.....while I'm not in a band anymore, I still practice with my gear....nothing flashy.... 2 kramer barettas, 2 marshall heads, 2 Marshall 1960 slant cabs, rack bbe, furman pc, boss Gt6...I'm too old to get anymore gear

I have a 1986 Marshall 100 watt JCM 800 half stack with channel switching and reverb which I bought new.
I have a lot of guitars but my main ones are my Fender Heavy Metal Strats from the late 80's and an ESP M-2 Deluxe Custom from the early or mid-90's.
My next guitar purchase will be a DeJayce.

I have a small set up since I only play for the fun of it and have no desire to play live in front of a crowd. However I have way more than I need for playing at home.

plus several others. overdrive, delay, phaser, tremlo, distortion, flanger, synth wah and probably more that I'm forgetting.
I have a Line6 Guitar Port to play through my computer if I want to record.(This usually shows how far I am from having a part down).
I also have a Peavy 4 string bass and Fender Bass amp. Nothing special on either one but fun to mess around with.

Right now it's very simple, I've noticed that the more experienced I get the more simple I want it. My rig right now is extremely simple. Ibanez RG550 with Duncan Invaders. BYOC 808 tubescreamer. VHT(Fryette) Pittbull 45 1x12 combo. No effects at all. Trying to play as fast as I possibly can  The Invaders suits the amp really good since it's a bright amp, like most EL84-amps are, those pickups are thickening the sound up really good and clarity is still preserved. |
