Hey guys, it's me, I know I haven't been here for a while. School has just been killer. Busy doing tests, projects, timed writings, etc. Well, now, school is actually working in my favor; go figure. We have a project in English where we have to give a presentation; this will be due June 3, 6 or 7. We can do it on our favorite book, play, music cd, or -get this- artist. I figured a presentation in front of about 30 people my age would be the perfect way to spread the word about Michael Angelo in my area, especially since my english teacher happens to be a guitar player himself. Any sugguestions for this presentation are of course welcome, as well as charity performances *nudge nudge* .

You might want to start you research at www.troygrady.com. Normaly I don't list web sites that have MAB Tab on this forum, but Michael once listed this site as it is more of a learning site. (If anyone has any issues with this site being posted, I will remove the post)

What's very special about this site is that this guy has analysed most if not all what mike plays between the lick, excercises etc. on the Speed Kills vid.

Yeah, my english teacher is a guitar player himself; I figured that doing a project on the world's fastest shredder would be an automatic A+ ;D. Not to mention a good way to get the word out about Michael. There are some catches, however... The presentation has to be between 3-5 minutes long, which means I wouldn't have time to play the No Boundaries song. Maybe my teacher could make an exception in this case, 'cause I REALLY wanna show the class the speed lives video. But if I can't... . 3-5 minutes is NOT enough time! Also it's not just a show and tell kinda thing where you tell the class about something. You also have to explain WHY you like them, and it has to be a fairly deep description as to why; this is, after all, an honors english class. As for me, well...I like Michael 'cause his songs are just so damn fast and cool, and I'm not quite sure if that would suffice . On another note: Deb, or Michael, or whoever can answer my question: is it ok for me to show the speed lives video publicly? I seem to remember some kind of warning at the beginning. I'd also like to print up some pictures for a poster or something to show off some of his stage moves with the double or quad guitar. I dunno if I need permission for that or not, so that's why I'm asking .

Got an update over here...currently, since the presentation is so short, I'm planning on letting the dvd play in the background while i do the talking, with the volume low. I'm planning on taking a bunch of video clips, cutting them and splicing them together, to get a sort of a collage thing happening, while the "No Boundaries" song from the speed lives video is playing in the background. However, I can't, for the life of me, separate the audio from the video. Could anybody tell me how to do this, so I can get the audio file? If it's legal, that is. Thanks.

Is it unauthorized when it's for promotional purposes (at least in large part) and he's a member of the artist's street team though? I'd argue that he's safe

American?? Really not ;D Anyhoo, I'd still argue it's not unauthorised when he only shows a short portion of the film and he's on the artist's street team

Actually I'm only a measley law student. I just finished my finals last week... don't even know if I passed yet. If I actually decide to be a lawyer I will likely go into criminal law though, I specialised in organised crime and other criminal modules this year and quite enjoyed it.

Well, I sure hope it's legal, I waited and waited for an "official" response, but it never came, so...I had to do what I had to do . The response to the presentation was amazing, I wasn't expecting everybody to be so easily won over. To start off my presentation, I showed a clip of "speed kills" that I found off of metal method. The audience was perfect. Oooh's and aah's when Michael started playing over the neck, and then, when he started doing the over-under...wow. People went nuts for him. Guys whooped and hollered, and all the ladies threw their panties at the tv. Just kidding, but the response was awesome. And then I started talking about him, nothing fancy, just about 2 minutes of speech, and people hung on to my every word. In closing, I played a clip from "speed kills revisited" in which Michael plays a small segment of "Prog", and my presentation ended with enthusiastic applause.
