I'm only a month behind you... and she passed by me like I was standing still.
When Luke hit 2,000 they were joking that she would pass him by the end of the year. My bet is by October she will pass luke.
Maybe I should setup a poll...

I knew it would be before Your final exam ;D Shadow... I know the word isn't the nicest, but You know that when we use it about Succubus, it's meant in a nice and sweet way. I think I speak for all here when I say that, thru the short time she's be here, We've all come to love and respect here. So what started as a joke is now meant as a compliment BTW. thx for stopping by once in and while and for standing up for us in another thread. I think it gave the words weight coming from one don't care to much about MAB THX mate

*smiles* Thanks Blondie, that was really nice So I finally got Shadow to listen to No Boundaries yesterday (I thought he'd already heard it, whoops! ) and he quite liked it ;D This was right after he decided Vai (FTLOG) is crap (though Tender Surrender was "ok until 2 minutes in"... can't win 'em all!), so I was kinda expecting the worst! ;D MAB 1 - 0 Vai and Zale

Woah posts directed at me. I more then understand it's meant in a friendly way, but I stick to the fact that when growing to be a permanent nickname it's really not the best one could have. As for the music, I will never be a fan of the type of music that's mostly thrown around here. I guess it's a matter of taste, I just don't like the random noises as I call it that most of the "music" has. I don't know how to put it to words, but its the "squeeking noises" electic guitars make that put me off. That combined with the scene around it, the way people dress etc it's kind of the opposide of what attracts me really. That said, I like about ANY type of music, I don't have a preference. I prefer listening to something and then deciding if I like it or not, and by that I like music from about any genre. I however usually don't bother beyond that, I don't care who wrote something or what genre it is, and I know very little about it. Since Succubus came into my life this has changed a bit because she's very much into music. I have grown to really like her musical talents and usually she plays stuff I can appreciate very much. The fact she likes some stuff I don't well, we can't like the same stuff 24/7 that would grow boring as well. Anyways like she said she made me listen to some music. Vai unfortunatly was exactly the type of music that is the reason why I dislike electric guitars. I am trying to be more open to give some of it a chance, and the song she made me listen to from MAB was actually quite nice. I still wouldnt sit and listen to it over and over but I don't really do that with ANY music so i guess that was a victory. Now I know about nothing when it comes to music but the speed that MAB plays at is impressive Vai well... I guess best not playing that around me else we have a record in the garbage bin *grins* FYI besides "this type of music" (I actualy dont know the genre) I really dislike Jazz and Blues. I generally dislike depressing music, that's for funerals really. Country isn't my piece of cake either, I have heard the odd song that's allright but in general country makes me angry very quickly :-) For most other types of music it's 100% dependant on the fact is the song is good yes/no. I tend to quicker like music that is either calm, about something or has a good tune in it. I tend to dislike music that makes me nervous by random chaotic noises. There, that post is long enough :-) @ Succubus: I love you too :-) I probably should register here sometimes even tho I don't play guitar (I can't move my hand on the "neck" I believe it's called, I tried!!. That said I wouldn't EVER want to play electric guitar anyways, but I would love to learn accoustic) I have a horrible singing voice too I also don't like shred and whatever more get's discussed here. Hrm. Well for my talents I aint the best addition P.S: The MAB song No Bounderies, or at least the tune at about 1:15 into the song comes straight from a computer game from when I was little. (If I would have to guess one of those games from the late 80s or early 90s, when they still used these 8 bit tunes) I however can't think of the name of the bloody game. If I manage to find it i'll let you know. I think it was one of these scrolling shooters where you control a little plane and fire at everything that moves. (even tho games where little inspiring back then they where still fun ) I guess that's the only talent I do have (music wise): If I have heard something before, i'll know. I had that with a classical song Succubus made me listen to which the themesong of Stargate SG1 was blatantly taken from. Time to really end this post, I have an appointment to make today. I bet I can receive the award for longest guest post now! And most posts as a guest

Old computer games often sound a lot like shred cos they use fast scales and arpeggios, I've seen a lot of posts on various forums saying "Did Shredder-blah-blah write the music for game-blah-blah?" Heard a lot of people asking that about Yngwie especially. And yeah Stargate theme sounds very like Vaughn-Williams' Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis. I wouldn't say it's blatently nicked from it but there's a clear influence there, I was impressed when you picked that one up ;D

I am quite positively sure this particular song sounds very alike to a game :-) Could be pure coiincidence, it could also be he subconciously had this tune in his mind when composing/playing it. (However that goes) But let's not bore the forums with my psychological rambling. It's either way the first "shred" you made me listen to that I didn't want to throw out of the window. In fact I even like it. Still not my favorite music, but definitly very impressive playing.
Without knowing a first thing about shred I would dare to state MAB is definitly very talented. More so then Vai/Yngwie and what more you made me listen to.

Oh I have the same about movies :-) I don't quickly "really like" anything or anybody really. That includes falling in love. I refered to Succubus as Darth Spammer as I would claim that title about anywhere except on the messageboards here, simply because I don't have anything to say on most topics :/
