When going from 2 -> 4 on the A string I am using my middle and pinky. I realized I should have said the pads of my fingers (my finger tips). Its more like the skin feels thick on my fingertips (must be building up some calluses!) So the they feel different, not exactly numb, but not as sensitive (if that makes any sense) Is that a concern? By the way, I have been working on the 2 octave scale consistantly: -----------1----2------------------ ----------------2--------4--------- -----------1--------3----4--------- -----------1--------3----4--------- -----------1----2--------4--------- ----------------2--------4--------- As well as the Legato chromatic 4 notes per string. going up (from the high E sting to low E) is a little tougher and going down. If you really want a lot of strenght in your 3 and four fingers use this but again be carefull H=hamer P=pull use yours fingers as shown starting on the first frett on the high E up to the low E hamer on and then ascend by PULL OFF, then continue chromaticly up to the 5 th frett you will see how hard is this again be carefull H H H -----------2----3---- 4---------- -----------2----3--- 4--------- -----------2----3--- -4--------- -----------2----3---- 4--------- -----------2----3 ----4--------- -----------2----3-----4--------- HTH.

Me Mad ? ;D No, I'm not mad at all... just being my usual goofy self. That's why I said "No harm, No foul". In other words, I wasn't hurt, so no big deal! By the way, I appreciate all the help I have gotten on this thread!!!! Keep it coming guys and gals!

Ok,
I think I am ready for lesson # 2.
I did purchase a metronome and have been practicing my scales (on average 1 - 2 hours a day) 5 days a week. (That is as much time I can spend)
The speed and accuracy have really increased (not even half of MAB's speed, but that's ok).
So what else should I start working on as step #2

Try the following bends on all string ½ note, 1 note, 1½ note and 2 note. Bend up hold it for a while then release and play the note You should hvae bended up to, to here if Your bend was right. When You get'em right add vibrato.
Vibratos to practice Violin vibrato, pivot Your fretting finger fast. Wide vibrato, bend - release - bend - release etc quite fast. Rythmic Vibrato, like the wide but try doing triplets f.ex.
