Hello, I'm new here and yesterday (because I had my 18th birthday) I recorded Speed Kills with a backing track. I played it like the original in D tuning. So all tabs for GP are wrong because Michael Angelo also played it in D. It's on youtube: I know it's not perfect and the sound is bad but you can here the clean sweeps. I practise speed kills for a few weeks, shredding for more than 1 year and I play guitar for 3 years now. Tell me what you think about it.

Good stuff man!!! One of the better attempts I have seen/heard. You have the 'MAB' tone really dialed in. Are you using an amp or effects processor? Cheers man and welcome to the forum!

hey thanx guys! Do you really like it?
Yes my sweeps are really clean I think you can hear this in the video but I hate the quality. I will borrow the camcorder of my dad in a few days or weeks and then I will upload a better quality version. And I will practise the 5th caprice part.

@ BKW I'm using my Kustom Quad 100DFX amp with digital effect "delay". It's a cheap but very nice amp!

This is a good attempted at the song. If you have been practicing this song for a few weeks then in a couple months or so you'll nail the song. I can only do like 2 parts in this song and that is the under/over tech part sort of and the very beginning of the song. Anyway keep practicing and you'll perfect the song eventually.

That was awesome man. I just started playing guitar like a month and a half ago and shortly thereafter I discovered MAB. It is my dream to be able to one day play his songs. I seem to be picking things up really fast, at least that is what everyone has told me so far. Anyway great job again.
Also a quick question for anyone who reads this. Is having the goal of playing MAB's music eventually a realistic one for someone who wants it really bad and practices a accordingly. It just seems like I never really knew what I wanted to do with my life for sure before I started playing guitar, and it has really affected me in the short time that I have been doing it. It is all I can think about, lol. Anyway I hope that was not a stupid question, I look forward to you guys input, peace.

bending and tuning/intonation could be a little better, but overall that's a good cover. I like the sweeps ;D and that Jackson Soloist looks very nice! Keep shredding!

I can't hear it (no speakers) but i can tell the alternate picking was sloppy so i'd say practice the alt picking licks very slowly wih a metronom & raise the tempo by 2bpm while keeping it clean and eventually you'll get there. I can't play those licks cleanly @ 140bpm yet so i sympathise with ya! Other than that the playing LOOKED decent enough & you have time on your side so i say........ In 5 years' time with alot of practice you could be really bad ass bro. It's good to see kids playing instruments, i didn't start til i was 20!

Work on your vibrato, and overall intonation. It was shaky, which gives you that n00b sound. Your guitar sounded out of tune in places, or that could also be you hitting bum notes from time to time. Your timing needs work, but I'm sure you can tell already. Your right hand technique ruins a lot of the picking licks, the whole arm banging away in such a manner is bound to give you problems with overall accuracy. Impressive sweeps, I must say. Over/under, though? Leave that to MAB.

i was 1 of the fools who thought that if i bought speed lives learning no boundaries would be really easy lol. theres a whole bunch of people like that though...especially people around my age (14-18). this is 1 of the better covers. nice work
