New Lick i came up with. (Video)

OK, it's not often i post actual videos (if i can't bare the sight of my ugly mug, i wouldn't want to impose it too much on you guys ).... but i came up with this (i think) pretty cool 'mixed up' descending picked lick, and thought i'd test the video feature out on the new Digital Camera that we just bought (cos we're expecting a kid in the next few days).
I wanted to mix the groupings up for this (ala Shawn Lane), so i start with 6's, then 4's, then some 4/5's. I strictly alternate pick the groups of 6 and the 4's, then mix alternate with economy picking for the groups of 4/5 on the last three strings.


I also did some other bits of doodling in the clip, the bit at the start is just some improvised dooodling..... i like to doodle. ;D
The lick i played at around 2:08 is a version of a lick i 'borrowed' from Shawn Lane. ;D

The tab has come out all bastardy Wills.

5 things-

1- When you ran through the lick @ 00:35 it made me come on my keyboard so i've saved valueable "wrist energy".

2- You have a slightly awkward looking pick hand but it works, your fret hand is excellent.

3- My dog has that toy snake on the back of your chair (well, not the same one unless you live in my house).

4- You forgot to hide your bike.

5- Your daughter hasn't touched that guitar since you bought it "for her" has she?! Lol.

That may have been because we now have a 19" widescreen monitor, so it all fit in 1 line on this screen, but if you have a smaller/square screen it may not fit on and therefore all break up.

I have since split it into 2 lines of tab, so hopefully it looks alright now (let me know).

Yes, it is very awkward, i hate it. At least now i know what's wrong with it (quite complicated) and finally solved all the mysteries of alt picking ;D .....so someday when i've finished my Lane collection i will have to start devoting some daily time to 'correcting' the problem.... in fact, getting my picking hand to "re-learn" the direction of motions altogether.

Lol..... actually, she's getting a bit big for that now.... we bought her a brill new Mountain Bike (front/rear suspension etc.) a few weeks ago... we have it hidden at a friends house for now, until this baby is born in the next few days, then we'll surprise her with it, so she doesn't feel 'left out'.

Hehe... she has no interest in it... spoilt git.... she just wanted it bought for her. ... but it's come in handy since i don't have any working/playable electric guitars anymore.

Yeah the tab is alright now.

Yeah it was a good thing, but my nan was shocked!

As long as you have the pick gauging & positioning down & it's not hurting when you play fast then you don't really need to change it.

Actually, we DO hear noises in the night coming from under the stairs!!!!!

I remember my first mountain bike, i had the helmet & pads & ept falling off. I was only 18 so leave me alone. Lol.
