Well I posted a bulletin looking for a Guitar Duel on MySpace,and I got some challenges no big deal. I beat them.  ;DThen I get home and the best shredder in town asks for a duel  I know I cant win. But being as c0cky as I am I accept. We chat for a bit and I'm hoping to intimidate him, but I'm scr3w3d.  Hopefully I'll do good enough to where I don't loose by much. |

look toki, i dont want to offend you or even for that matter be mean to you im giving you an outsiders opinion its great to be driven! not many people are. but at the same time its hard to like someone who is very openly arrogant. i dont listent o yngwies music because of it  |

I don't really care for any Van Halen because of all the stupid stuff DLR and EVH do and the size of their egos. I do listen to some "Van Hagar" because I like Sammy though |

adrenalin doesnt make you think other wise, i never have adrenalin i used to be like you, but as i watched other ppls videos, like ppl on this forum, i came down to earth, now im working on technuiqe and getting as much help as i can, i mad e a few "help" threads,maybe you should go look at them

travis you got your act together, thats why i always help you out now, you actually listen.
toki if you think you can shred then i think i speak for a lot of people here by saying "prove it"
guitar god? i hardly think so, there is more to playing a million notes a second, at your age i doubt you even understand basic harmony, which scales to use on which chords, standard progressions and things like intonation and vibrato (the two most important things in guitar playing at a high level, well i think so)
like ive said before, i used to think i was the ***, coming on and chatting about theory and thinking i was ace because i could alt pick fast but roberto and gibsonlespaul destroy me in the theory field and willy and spiderslash destroy me in the guitar field.
ever great player has studied music in some sort of form, even hendrix (i dont think he listened to his teacher though haha)
i'm willing to help you man but like i said, i only help out people who listen and are appreciative of what i (and others) give.
i'm honestly tired of threads where you say you can do this and that, and you ignore our advice of dont be arrogant.
i dont give a damn if you can play a million notes a second, there is playing and composing, then both, at 14 i doubt you can do both.
heed the advice that myself and kenny gave you, if more threads come about, certain people will just slate you and it will be like travis all again, it took him ages to get some respect around here.

lol ya, i used to think shred was all about how fast you can play, but thats because i played as a sport, i could wreck all the kids who would play zepllin cover songs and think they were the best, now they are in great bands and what not, and im having trouble finding people that can stand to listen to me( i like to be the boss in the band). toki what you should do is make a video, and we can all evaluate it, most of us wont "tear you apart" and try to help you, but there might be someone being mean, most likely not because most of us have matured
