Your right I hate that people think Guitar Hero is harder than real guitar. I also hate that people choose to play that over the real thing, South Park put it better then I ever could.

I think it's a good thing. I like the fact the it's opening up a whole new musical world to kids. I've seen a bunch of kids move to a real guitar because of the game. It plants that seed.
But when it comes to actually playing the game, I'm not too big on it. It's fun but just not my cup o' tea.

The stupidity of some of the hardcore fans of GH is undeniably unrivaled. They, as stated, think that it's such a more complicated thing than guitar.
Every time someone tries to tell me it's harder than real guitar, I tell them "Let's see you do an A minor phrygian scale."
Each blank look is more satisfying than the last.

Oh yeah I admit to playing the game for some time but that doesn't mean I wasn't playing electric guitar at the same time. I love the real thing over that game.

I CANNOT stand guitar hero anymore, they just keep producing the same damn game over and over and people as you all say think its better and "harder" than the real guitar! It pisses me off so much that people actually think that is true. By the way, if you come across one of those people, ask "Can you play Through The Fire and Flames on Expert Difficulty?" if they say yes, ask them "Okay, now play it on the real guitar." and see how far they get XD

I was playing GH last night, why, because it's fun and I like the music, I was playing real guitar before, why, because it's fun and I like the music, does that mean I have to start a huge war with myself

I LOVE GH I COMPLETED THROUGH THE FIRE AND FLAMES ON EXPERT.
What people have to remember is, is that it's a game and a game should stay a game.
You don't compare games like Call of Duty to real life wars so people shouldn't compare Guitar Hero to real guitar. Slightly different situations there but oh well.

Cult of personality on expert was my favourite song to play or the devil went down to georgia.

Imo the potential of software like guitar hero is phenomenal.
Imagine if they developed a program that you could use to learn basics of music theory, how to play cleanly, how to bend in tune, how to read music and so on. Something like that could become a very valuable tool. They could add lessons as DLC to cater to everyone's needs. I would buy something like that in a heartbeat. =P

I enjoy guitar hero, its alot of fun to play with friends especially now you can have the drums, guitar, bass and singing. Christmas time I was up in london with my brother and his girlfriend and a load of friends and my brothers girlfriend bought 9 different versions of rock band and guitar hero. We played it so much we started dreaming about it.
I finished guitar hero 5 today though and was dissapointed that there were no really challenging songs.

The thing I love about the game is that GHWT-GH5 you can make your own songs and this boosts peoples creativity in song writing even if they are not musically talented
