Hello, everyone!
I have found that it’s good practice to leave a decent introduction; so here we go! My name is Scott, I’m 25 and I live in the sunny parts of Siberia, Russia! Really, it is quite hot here now. It has been in the high 80s and low 90s for the past two weeks.
I was born in America, but relocated here to study Russian and go to university here, and have ended up also starting a family and settling down even more than originally intended.
I’ve played guitar since the 8th grade, which leaves me being at…. I think, let’s see, 13 years old or so. I suffered a spinal injury when I was 16 which has caused some muscle atrophy and loss of movement in my left hand, but that hasn’t kept me from playing guitar.
I compose my own instrumental music. It’s in the style of symphonic/movie score/black/death metal; with a heavy focus of melody and harmonies.
The last time I joined a guitar forum, I was still in high school and it was full of very pompous-elitist folks that thought they were the cream of the crop – and would never let you get on the microphone in Yahoo chat to play some riffs. So, I was very impressed with the atmosphere of the forum here; and also by the fact that Mr. Batio is actually present and active within the forums. It’s always very cool to see a very talented musician helping others with their craft.
Well, I figure this is as good of an introduction as any. I’m not entirely sure how active I’ll be, as I don’t have a guitar here in Russia at this time. (I transitioned to playing drums after the accident.) But, it’ll be a joy to see all the talented folks here share their videos and discussion.
Cheers,
Scott
