Videos and CDs etc, just go out of print eventually, after they have reached their peak of sales. I have a copy of this VHS I purchased A while ago, it must have been one of the last ones available commercially (i.e. not second hand). It's actually a really good video, with some awesome lessons on it. It also has quite a bit of live concert footage of Michael from what loks like the 1980s which is great to watch. I advise getting hold of a second hand copy of it if you can.
On a side note, if the guy who owns speedkills.cjb.net is reading, on the tabs section of his site he has some tabs under an 'unknown' section. The first of these is a solo called off-and-running which appears on the Star Licks video. Varaiations of it also appear in the song Fighting Mad and No Boundaries. Just thought I'd let him know as it says any information on these tabs would be nice

Luke if you're up for a laugh, order the Steve Vai star licks one while you're there. It's by a guy called Mike Wolf, who is honestly, one of the worst guitarists I have ever heard.
He makes mistakes constantly, and on one of the licks I think he just gets bored and it just finishes by him just sliding down the fretboard and stopping. ;D The best one though is where he is giving examples of bending notes. You'd have thought it was one of the first things you learn on the guitar, but not him. He misses the string with his pick TWICE before he actually hits it to bend the note ;D ;D
BUY IT BUY IT, you'll never laugh so much ever again

I saw a clip of the DVD you mention on the internet. It was the teching of For The Love Of God. You have to be really careful with those Star Licks videos, they can go from being really helpful (Yngwie Malmsteen by Wolf Marshall, Michael Angelo) to downright terrible (Steve Vai by Mike Wolf).
This is where I first heard of Michael Angelo. I had the Yngwie Malmsteen one (really good, if only for the LOADS of clips of other guitarists at the end) and Mike was at the end of the video. I remember rewinding it to watch Mike's 20 second clip about a hundred times. ;D

The Star Licks Mike´s video is AMAZING. Go all of you to buy it where you can, you´ll enjoy it forever.
Great chops, great guitars (that red Dean...), incredible examples...one of his best works, believe me.
I still remember my mom just stopping by the TV, back in 1989, eyes wide open, saying the long haired guy on the screen was as good as Paco de Lucia. ;D
And Paco de Lucia is a guitar MONSTER.

Yes, he used to play with Al di Meola and John MacLaughin some wicked flamenco fussion trios. There are a couple of albums and some live footage.
He is probably the best falmenco player ever, believe me, I write from Spain.

Hey JamesWaring, could you post some stuff from that Wolf making mistakes???
I am laughing just thinking about it ;D
Remember guys the Vinnie Vincent video? He did the slow examples almost faster than the first ones!!!
And his way to become a fast player...my God...and he was a proficient player, no doubt.

And if you are a 'Holland' fan... it is a must have. It has tab and instructions for playing parts of 'Love in on time' & ' Wake up the neighborhood'. In addition, 'off + running' & 'call to arms' are included. The tab and notes are all done by hand (no computer generated printing) and as it says "Transcribed and notated by Michael Angelo"... I assume he did it all by hand! So if you get it second hand, make sure you get the booklet with it.

Yes, I do have the original edition, I bought it in 1990 and has it autographed by Mike. You are correct, he did it by hand.
The warm up section on that video is so amazing...I must confess it may be my fav video from him....when "Off and running" (with back guitars provided by Guy Mann Dude) is played I used to stand up raising my fist and scream!

Every MAB video is a must for any guitar pupil...he is always surprising and the best teacher you can have. The Star Licks one it´s so fresh, and his playing is so astonishing you´ll keep on playing it forever. BTW, believe me, the FIRST time I heared the term SWEEP PICKING is on that video. Mike is ready to teach how to....you know....sweep, and he says: "And this technique, which I call Sweep Picking...." So, tell me if I´m wrong, but I think he may invented the words on that lesson. You know, he has other terms, like PPS, but this one is worldwide accepted and used. Looking forward to know if I´m right, but I think so.
