Im not sure if i've ever seen you ever using wireless Michael, so i wondered what you thought of it and if you had actually played with one? What do you think of the tonal losses? I've only detected a little but for a pro like yourself, i'd be very keen to hear your opinion! Thanks Kev

wow....good question! I got a wireless but don't notice much tone loss at all. Would love to get Mike's opinion! It would be great for mike to answer this sometime! Im using AKG and i detect a lot of top end loss. Its an AKG system. Then again, Eric Johnson says that he can turn his guitar cable around and notice a difference in tone, and i really don't doubt him anymore! You can certainly notice a tone loss with a longer lead too, such as the difference between a 40ft and a 20ft cable. Kev

I have a set of high end, true diversity, multi channel Sampson wireless units. The 9 volt battery's that they use have to be specially ordered. They are stronger than normal consumer 9 volts. I don't notice much of a difference with these units however with other less expensive one's I have noticed a significant sound loss that IMO is not acceptable. I still prefer cables on stage as does Mark Tremonti, Steve Morse and many other "tone purists" but I will probably go wireless when I tour for my new CD since these new Sampson's are so good. My advice is to trust your ear and A/B the difference between the unit and a cable.

I guess they both have advantages and disadvantages. The wireless allows you to move more freely around the stage but depeneding on the make you get you could suffer sound loss. Its like the exact opposite with cables. And also with cables you could trip and make a fool of urself lol ;D. But like Michael said, use ur ears.
