One of my friends said that "Nu" means "New" so its New-Metal, (then i prefer the old metal ) I used to listen to Nu-metal, but when i listened to MAB, it changed. BTW, i like Melodic metal, there is a Finish Group called "NightWish" its pretty cool, it has a woman vocalist who used to be an opera singer (she has a a beautyful voice, at least thats my opinion)

Well, Nightwish are not bad, but I have to admitt I don't really like that style much. I'm more for classical, or neo-classical stuff.

I absolutely hate Nu-Metal too. I remember I used to go to the Corporation in Sheffield every weekend, and in what seemed like the space of about 2 weeks, Megadeth, Metallica and Maiden had completely gone out of the window and all they were playing was Soulfly, Korn and Slipknot

I wish I was born in Finland or Japan. Metal (especially melodic metal) gets a lot of media attention there. *sigh* Bullsh*t ;D I live in Finland and I cannot say that metal gets "a lot of" media attention. Some, yes. But that's it.

They became totally nu-metal ***.

h yeah, I totally agree that Metallica have totally sold out now, but the time I was talking about was not that recent. I went to see Maiden's Dance of Death tour a couple of years ago and it was really dissapointing. I suppose you can't keep on going for ever

Maybe too much glory is the problem.

I live the sound and production of nu-metal. In terms of musiciality... meh.. doesn't impress me much. Over the years the songwriting has also been slumping. But every genre IMO has its great acts. I presonally LOVE the music of Audioslave, for instance Ivan
