Okay, I think you're just a little unsure about what power chords actually are toki. They aren't like normal chords. The easiest thing in the world to play that everyone starts out playing....the intro to "Smoke on the Water"....those are power chords my friend. Being "lazy" as you said, really isn't an excuse lol. It's not like learning scales, or sweeps. If you are that lazy then the guitar is not for you.
As for tab, well that's just as simple. The number corresponds to the fret and it lies on the string in which you play the note on. For example, if you see a 12 on the top line, you would play the high E string on the 12th fret. After that you just have to know basic notation to know how long to play it and so on. I really don't understand how you are "shredding" if you haven't figured out tab.
I have a hard time believing that you play every single thing by ear, especially for your age, no offense man, but there really is a point where you've had your first guitar for a few days, and you really crave to learn those first few songs. A beginner is going to look at tabs to learn them and not fiddle around for 3 weeks to try and get it down without seeing it on paper.
I remember the first song I learned was "Seek & Destroy" I got a Kill 'Em All tab book with my first guitar, but it was an acoustic lol. It sounded funny playing thrash riffs totally unplugged.

i know what tabs 4 m8 and as for being lazy it was easier to type that lazyness stopped me from putting If i teach my self and get rllly good I'll feel more accomplished and i fell if i start learning them NOW this late in my "career" it will ruin what ive accomplished so far
every song ive EVER learned (except for Breaking the Law by Judas Priest) I learned by ear

toki man, i'm gonna give you some advice and its up to you whether you ignore it or heed it. first of all your statements are bold and lacking in evidence in what you know, as roberto said once before, there is lots of fast players here but dont know *** what they are doing. education is important too, every great player you have heard has studied music in some form. the most evident things that seperate good from bad players are
1. tuning (yes some people cant tune properly) 2. Intonation (not just the guitar but fretting notes too) 3. Vibrato (if i hear bad vibrato i switch off) 4. Synchronisation (left hand playing matches the right) 5. Muting (lets see you sweep on bridge pickup on low gain hehe)
I'm far from pro myself, i prefer to teach and study music these days but i can hold my own, it took me a while to take advice because like you i thought i was amazing, for instance i could play fast but had only 2 of those above techniques under my belt
lots of people will help you out here but your driven boasts of grandeur without any evidence can switch off even the most calm of people, there are some people who will just nail you
anyhoo theres my rant, i aint having a go, just that theres only room for 1 steve haha

It's good Toki has the determination, many people have the guitar skills but lack determination so end up playing clubs/pubs all their life which is fine if you WANT to do it- but how many people actually do want to do that when you can play like a bastard?
You have to listen to what Ali is saying, cos basically "out of tune" plaing is what pissess every single person off who listens to music. Whether it's prog metal or jazz or pop music- it HAS to be in tune.
You can be the best player in the world but if you're out of tune- you ***. It's that simple.
Playing intonation is hard to master too, try to develop as light a touch as possible so you're not fretting notes sharp/flat. Also since you can't really hear yourself as well as others can, play in front of some experienced (and honest) players to see how good you are.
Bad bends & vibrato is another turn-off, don't use the excuse of "i'm not a blues player" to not practice bending & vibrato.
Slop (ie- not in synch) is something that pisses me off to no end too. You do not wanna be the next Tiago Della Vega.

mabye you should research more into the genres, powermetal is mostly powerchords which have no third degree and therefore are neither major or minor. Powermetal rarely changes key or tempo and note groupings tend to be straight successions of notes.
Progressive is smarter, they use proper chords, sometimes with the third in the bass to establish a key and make a major or minor using powerchords. they also change key a lot, use odd groupings for notes and the tempo certainly changes in most cases.
Death metal is drop tuned aggressive playing with no regards to harmony or melody, well thats an unfair statement but classical musicians would tear them apart in terms of their composition. there are a few exceptions but its generally the case of tune low, shout and scream and still live with your parents and moan about teenage issues. i like some death metal but most of it really is bad
