Peeps,
Lets pray that Aaron Ramsey fully recovers from his horrific injury and can continue his extremely promising career.
He was clumsily tackled by Ryan Shawcross in the game yesterday which resulted in Ramsey fracturing his Tibia AND Fibula bones.
He had "successful" surgery (gotta love private hospitals!) but no-one can really estimate how long he will be out for. I'm sure it'll be at least 6 months and even then he wont be back to 100% straight away.
Thankfully the initial reaction is that the injury isn't of the level suffered by Eduardo a couple of seasons ago and since Eduardo has made a full recovery, there's no reason that (barring complications) Aaron Ramsey won't do so too.
Aaron is one of our most promising young players (for those who don't know, he is only 19 years old) and has the potential to be Wales' best ever player- better than Ryan Giggs even and Giggsy was the bollocks at peak.
Here is a pic of the injury, not for the squeamish:
Shawcross was obviously distraught by what he did (albeit unintentionally), left the field in tears and even needed to be driven home by his Mum pretty much straight after he was sent off. He is only 22 years old himself so will be effected quite deeply.
He isn't a nasty player and really deserves to be playing for a team much better than Stoke (someone like Liverpool, Aston Villa, Spurs level IMO). Hopefully he doesn't stop delivering crunching tackles.
He was included in the England squad- which was announced straight after the game, so hopefully he can continue his career without dwelling on what took place.
