Any suggestions for an affordable Video Camera thats good for just doing the standard videos. I dont have any software for recording on pc but feel free to suggest that too. I am very much a novice when it come to that.

I'm actually looking at the Flip Ultra HD now as image AND sound quality are huge for me. Check this out: It doesn't have the best image but I think it's a little more well rounded and a little cheaper.

Haha thanks dude. I went with the Zi8 after many days deciding. I recall its the only one out of the lot that can do 1080p video too. I'd never base one of these pocket cams round audio quality (as its always going to *** at least for what i want out of it anyway). I was close to getting the vado though.

Oh yeah the Zi8 definitely takes the cake in the image department. I just can't make proper use of 1080p with no HDMI on any of my appliances. So yeah, I'm trying to get a decent picture with the main focus on audio because that, specifically, is where my videos suffer the most. But damn there's a lot of good affordable choices out there. It has changed so much, even in the past couple of years!

How do you get the equivalent audio quality to the HD video quality from a handycam?
You can probably make professional quality video from a bog-standard HD camera and a good software program, but how do you get high quality audio without recording that seperately (but at the same time) and match it up to the video?

Well I don't. I just need the best I can get in one affordable package. I'll juice up the audio with said method when I can afford a decent mic. Something on my list already.

Makes sense. You may find the audio on HD cameras is good, obviously not great but possibly good enough. I found this site which may be helpful There are 1,290 hd camcorder reviews. You can sort by price, just times it by 1.5 to get the dollar price. www.testfreaks.co.uk/digital-camcorders/?sort=name

If you're talking about guitar though, you really just want to record the video and have your guitar going through your DAW and sync it up later. Theres no way I'd rely on the terrible sound from a cam in that department.
