Hey all,
I have an old Jackson Stealth Pro, and I absolutely cannot stand the stock single-coil in the neck position. It is way too quiet compared to the bridge, and it cannot be raised any higher. Does anybody know of a good single-coil passive pickup for a nice metal tone? I would prefer to spend under $70, as I am a starving college student, but all recommendations are welcome.

How about the mini humbucker route mate. How about something like a hotrail?

I wanted something that sounded more like a humbucker, yeah. I heard the YJM was a stacked humbucker or something along those lines, but I'm not sure if it would fit. I forgot about the hot rail; that might be a more viable choice. I haven't heard either one of these in person; would you or anybody else here happen to have experience with that?

The YJM would probably be too quiet for what you're after.
What do you have in the bridge now? What's the body wood?
EDIT: Nevermind, apparently those are basswood bodies. My first thought would be an Air Norton S depending on what you have in the bridge.

Everything is stock on it. I feel bad messing around with it because they are fairly hard to get a hold of, but this single coil is just too quiet compared to the bridge. I've heard nothing but good things about the Air Norton S; I'll have to add that to the suggestion box. Thanks for the help!

Just keep the stock single handy in case you ever want to sell it. I'd go with the A.N. S for sure.
