Spider III was good. But the lowest wattage I've played of it was the 75.
Why don't you just put up $20 more and get the IV 15? Or better yet, save up a little more and get the 75 of either used. $150-$225.

Absolutely terrible, extremely breakable. Not that you'd try to break it but it breaks in about 1-3 months. My guitar teacher said they are very digital, I would save up for a tube amp or if you just wanted it for the effects get a higher up peavey vypyr.

I can't vouch for most 15watts but I imagine they're not the best out there. Unless we're talking boutique handmade tube amps of course. Like I said before... Get a higher up model. At least 30watts. That will be plenty loud for bedroom rockin'. On the topic of Line 6 vs. Peavey I'd definitely go with Line 6. Hands down. For a company that specializes in effects modeling I'd trust their modeling amp poster child rather than a company who has almost no modeling past and is clearly trying to cash in on the Spider series. Plus I've played both back to back and not only does the Spider IV sound better, it's much more user friendly and has tons more tonal options. And talk about "digital' sounding, Peavey's crunch modes, chorus and flanger sound like absolute ass. But only you can decide what's right for you. Modeling amps are great for finding your sound and having fun while doing it. Typically once people find their sound they do get a nice tube amp and effects pedals to get a really authentic tone. But I wouldn't recommend going that route, quite yet, and possibly blowing a cool grand+ only to find out that it isn't really for you. Hope you have fun with whatever you go with though!

To Blind08, I've had mine for two years, and it has done nothing but be awesome. At TheLivingDead, the spider 3 15 was all i could afford at the time, and I have never liked Peavey. Line 6 has served me faithfully, both myself and my uncle play on Line 6, although with my Dean, it has pretty high output p'ups, so the sound breaks up a little faster.

Well my experience with it, even though i've never owned I have played it and I didn't like the line 6 though it is easier to use than the peavey I like the peavey because the sound is a lot better. When I find the demo of the line 6 spider 4 75 watt I'll show you that even the higher quality amps sound terrible.

Here are two great demos that show how good the amp sounds in various settings. Of course this is all subjective but to say they're just garbage is completely unfounded.

I'm not saying its completely bad I'm saying that it sounds really digital, it is again easier to use but imo the peavey is better.

Its an ok little amp. I bought one 3 years ago. It depends what you want the amp for though. I just play in my house for fun so it works fine for that and with my digitech gnx3000 I can get some nice sounds. I suggest trying one out and seeing if it is good for what you want it for.
