So my cousin came out to visit me a few weeks ago, and he brought along a few gifts. He has a recording studio in his house, so he had a bunch of equipment laying around. He doesn't really use it anymore so he was nice enough to donate a bunch of gear to me! Including: PreSonus FireStudio (Interface) StudioOne Artist (Recording Program) Behringer Studio Monitors He also gave me Easy Drummer (Lite), Guitar Rig 3 LE, and a copy of Windows 7. As you may have read, Ive been working on starting my own recording studio, and this will sure give me a boost as far quality of recordings and such. My cousin even gave me a few recorded sets of shows he did for a local band call 4 Lane Highway, and guitarist Greg Koch. Im going to work on mixing them down and see what I can come up with. That should keep me busy for a while...

How do you like studio one? I have it but have yet to have found the time to sit down and mess with it.

Sweet! He was nice enough to give you all that stuff instead of selling it on ebay or something. Hope you enjoy it and make some killer tracks!

I like Studio One better than Cubase. It takes a little while to learn, but you can get a great mix with it. Theres a ton of options as far as EQ's and all that stuff, as well as a drum/beat seqencer.
I used Studio One for the music in the YouTube money videos I made.
Unfortunately, my computer caught a virus, and now its all messed up. Hopefully it wont screw up too much and I can still keep my audio files.

Good score dude! Presonus one is a very new DAW, its decent but lacking in a lot of features just at the moment. I expect newer versions to be very good.

[Unfortunately, my computer caught a virus, and now its all messed up. Hopefully it wont screw up too much and I can still keep my audio files.[/quote] That definitely makes the case for having a computer completely dedicated to recording. Disconnect that internet cable and you won't have to worry about any security system. I figure that anything that's running in the background is going to add to any possible latency problems on your recordings. Keep rockin'
