If you're SURE you want a double-neck then go for it!
I feel like there are better things to spend your money on though (amp, effects), unless you truly need a double-neck for some reason.

Well, my rule of thumb is to never buy a guitar you can't try out first. There are many reasons why but the main one is the feel of it. I've seen guys that spent a few grand on a guitar and no matter how hard they tried they just couldn't click with it. I'd hate to see the same happen to you.
I'm also wondering why you'd want a double. Sure they're cool and having the 12 string there is neat but do you know how much they weigh? Certainly you won't be sitting with that thing so I hope you have a strong back!
None of this is meant to sound negative btw.
Personally, I'd go with a nice tube combo of some sort. You can play nice guitars through cheap amps and sound ok at best, or you could play mid range guitars through a nice amp and sound amazing.

Yeah the weight won't be a huge problem. And mainly I settled on the double neck because I wanted a 12 string electric and I couldn't find one I liked for the money and this one seemed ok from the guy's reviews. At first I wanted a Dean Boca but it got somewhat poor reviews and I played one at Willis Music and I didn't care for it. I did consider spending it on gear but I have a nice amp and wouldn't use a new one. I guess we will see. I can always return it.
