I'm kind of sold on the XT Live, but what, in your guys' opinions is the best POD?

What are you going to be using it for? I have a Pod XT Live, and It's great for practicing, but when I try to use it with the volume up on my Marshall stack, it sounds like complete garbage. I never could get a tone I was happy with for recording, either. But as far as practicing at volumes that don't piss off neighbors and roommates, I love it. Definitely not something I would use for gigging, though.
I also have a Pocket Pod, which is really convenient to cart around to friend's houses and such to jam, but again, nothing really sounds that great from it.
I've heard a lot of hype surrounding the Pod HD500; I would check that out if I were you. I would probably be buying that myself if I could afford it.
I seem to remember Bloodline and Kev having Pod Xt Lives, so maybe they could provide some input as well. If you want something for gigging, I would just invest in a good amp and some real effects pedals. Hope this helps!

X3 is "ok" for recording.... here are some recorded sounds of it www.youtube.com/user/shreddingjoris?feature=mhumBut it's hard to dial in a good punchy tone. And yes it sounds horrible live! But gain it's "ok" for home use and demo recordings.
