www.10news.com/news/26339369/detail.htmlKelly McPherson AKA "Kell-Bob" has been a friend of the family for over 30 years. He was a great guy and always had a smile on his face no matter what, he could always make me laugh without trying. I have always hated drunk drivers but this is the first time it has actually affected me or my family. I really wish I could be in San Diego right now I am sure his brother Brian and everyone else are taking it hard This is a picture of him and my mother taken when she flew out there to visit in July.

I feel your pain, my cousin who was a famous motocross racer Adam Pierce was killed by a drunk driver before I ever even got to meet him. It has really upset my family on my dad's side because the bastard that did it had 5 previous DUIs on his record. He was charged with a DUI and vehicular manslaughter and put away for life, but to be honest, I think he should be shot like a dog. It is terrible that people even consider such a thing and thus the result is someone completely innocent getting hurt, but sadly it still happens. In my opinion there should be some precautions to vehicles like breathalizers in vehicles to start the car, but even then people will still find a way to get around it...anyways hope everything goes well

Thanks for the posts guys. Zenshredder, it really sickens me that things like that happen all the time. I think there should be absolutely no leniency when it comes to this, one DUI and you are done, no more license, do not pass GO. You just can't take chances with these people, it is not worth the risk, we have plenty enough to worry about with sober people behind the wheel...

I agree, there should be no leniency because its just like shooting at someone with a gun, whether you missed or not or had the intention to kill or not, you still could potentially harm/kill someone with it when privileges are abused and misused. I also think that there should be a 1 strike system as well, no 2, 3, 4 and so on, just 1 chance and once you mess it up you should not be able to redeem yourself for at least a good sum of time(say 10+ years) and even then I think there should be some major restrictions, and on top of that it still might not even be worth risking the idiocy that people have...so yeah, I know what your going through. At least you got to meet this person and have a good time with them as well as treat them like family, my case I was not so lucky to meet him before his untimely death(I was around 10 or so when it happened too). Oh well, its life and not everything about life is pleasant, again I hope everything from now onwards goes better.

Death as a result drunk driving carries a max sentence of 14 Years over here & I think you're more likely to get large punishments under the Tories than the previous government. Unfortunately, people don't take the threat of prison time seriously so drink driving (not necessarily when people are bladdered, but just a little bit "merry") will probably continue until the whole alcohol culture goes out of vogue.
Kell looks happy in that photo, your Mum obviously told him one of my jokes, Brian...

I think that Finland is too friendly to its prisoners... HEY CMON THEY EVEN USE MORE MONEY TO PRISONERS FOOD THAN ON SCHOOLFOOD Geez...

Yes, but very low crime rate in comparison, and way less return prisoners. Here in the US, many people who I would not consider hard criminals get caught for petty stuff and the prison system here changes them and they get worse, and keep coming back.

Well Drug addict murederd a young couple and on a really cruel way and he had life sentence and what that tells me that Finish court keeps 6 years of a person as a value of human life....
