This came straight out of the LA glam rock scene in the 80s - spandex, and booze. It is not a case queen. It does have plenty of mojo, however. It has an oiled neck, chunkier but not beefy. There was a crack in the headstock which was repaired in the 90s. Originally had lacquer neck. Here are the specs:
-25.5 scale
-Ebony fretboard
-Original 80s Floyd Rose
-Duncan Parallel Axis Original PATB1 in bridge
-Duncan cool rails in neck
-Real MOP inlays
-Maple neck
-Mahogany body
-Upgraded Big Brass block - blocked -used to have a custom made tremolo-no, hence the holes by the floyd springs.
-Nitro finish
This is my 4th californian and probably the best I've ever played. For those who don't know, USA Hamers were hand built without CNC. Every single one is different than the next, even same models of identical years.
This one plays like butter - very low action and made from the absolute highest quality woods around. This one was a custom order by a semi-pro musician. I was told it was for some guitarist from the band Blue Tears, but I have no idea if this is true or not. It originally said "Hey You" on the back, which was in the finish, not a sticker. The spandex rubbed it off over the years.
I have played 40 some gigs with this, and it stayed in perfect tune all the time....from 38 degree weather to 103 degree blurs. It performs flawlessly. I never broke a string with it.
If you want an excellent player, this is for you. The body finish is dire (like many of those 80s Hamers), but a quick refinish would being it back to life.
I'm looking for $975 shipped and insured. Comes with a Ibanez usa hardshell case. Verified paypal addresses only.
