So i have an option to buy this unit, I wanted to know if i should really get it currently, i have a Spider IV with a metal zone pedal hooked up to it (before you judge, i get a pretty nice lead tone out of it ) the only thing i want is a more full sound, for a lot of fast legato playing and tapping like Andy James, Christian Muenzner, that sort of tone How do the reverb, chorus etc compare on the G# to the Line6 base stuff and will it give me the tone i desire? Edit: I'm looking to improve my lead tone, I can get the sound I want for riffs pretty much regardless

I'm not sure you'll be upgrading if you buy that unit. I would say that the effects you have in your amps is about equal to the G Sharp, ok maybe not exactly as good since I think TC Electronics is way better than Line 6 in making effects like delay and reverb but I don't think the difference you're looking for will be there.
I don't think your "problem" is with the gear you're using, it's more how you use it. You should be able to get att fat sounding lead tone out of that stuff.

Putting an effects modeler... In front of an effects modeler?
Huh.
I'd sell the Spider. Get a nice little tube combo of some sort, THEN put an effects modeler in front. You'll be MUCH more happy with the results.
