Saw the other guys tube amp post and got me thinking about a nice little practice combo. I listed a few below that caught my eye from a little searching. Budget doesn't matter. Just looking for something that shreds good at lower volumes. Any recommendations for a nice MAB shred tone?
Carvin V3M Combo H&K Tubemeister 18 Combo Jet City JCA2112RC Combo Egnater Tweaker Combo VHT Special 6 Combo Reeves Custom 6 Combo

I would recommend something with a marshall style preamp circuit and FX-loop and with EL84 tube(s). Then run a MAB overdrive in front of it and a delay pedal in the loop.

Thanks Blue. I know MAB uses Marshall amps and likes the JMP1, so I've been thinking something along those lines. Just not sure which amp is best that sounds good at home volumes.

No amp sounds really good at low volume to be honest, it's a speaker issue. Depends on what you mean with "low volume" also, 100 db might be "low" for some people, it's a subjective thing.
If you live in an apartment and don't want to disturb the neighbors it's better to stay away from tube amps. Don't let a label as "1 WATT" fool you, it will be loud enough to get you evicted for sure, it's all about the speakers(s). Surely if the wattage is low you will get a nice sound earlier, at lower volumes but it doesn't automatically mean it will sound good at "low volume", as I said it has a lot to do with the speaker.
I would try to find an amp that has power scaling, fx-loop and EL84 power tube(s). Or just take the amp to someone who can mod it so it has power scaling, it's a great feature which let you control the amps power with a knob. I believe Egnater have some amps with it if I remember correctly.
