I would think about looking into Dean's sig line of pickups. They are second o none and made in the USA. Also if you conact the right people you can have Dean custom wind pickups for you! I've had duncan's and dimz's and Dean puts them all to shame. If your really looking for pups drop me a pm and Ill hook you up.

Im trying not to spend over $90 on a set. Its just to replace the crappy pickups that came with my Saga ST-10 Kit. I just wanted a nice set of decently priced pickups. Looking for Strat style pickups.

what kind of "metal" sound are you looking for?
are we talkin like djent? 80's thrash? 21st century thrash? glam? 90's death metal? technical death metal? 80's neoclassical? modern shred?
imma assume Malmsteen since you have single coils and metal in the same topic, ha
but to be quite honest, what pickup you use won't make all too much of a difference unless there is a very specific tone/sound you're trying to achieve.
i'd go with the Seymours though, just because Malmsteen uses them himself ;D but idk, i've never really used single coils for 'serious' playing

So I ended up buying a Seymour Duncan SHR-1 Hot Rails for the bridge. Wired it all up, but all i heard was buzzing. So ima take it to Sam Ash to ask the guitar tech what i did wrong. Unless you guys can help with wiring stuff. I just *** at it i guess.

nvm.... Fixed the wiring. Here's the end result of my 5 week project! Similar to EVH's B&W Frankenstrat. FRONT:BACK:
