How many of you have bought Yngwie's new autobiography? I bought it and am about half-way through it. I like how it really gives a lot of information on his formative years in Sweden and then his move to The USA where in the period of a week he went from being a nobody to the being talk of the town. It's a well written book that has tons of information and shows that Yngwie is not only a brilliant musician but he also has a razor sharp wit and is highly intelligent. This book gives a look inside the mind of Yngwie Malmsteen and shows how he thinks. I recommend this book to anyone who is a member of this forum.

I will not buy it since most of it will probably be bull*** anyways. As long as his control freak of a wife has something to say it will most likely be the same old stories which is only a small part of what actually has happen to Yngwie in his life.

I bought it and read it and really enjoyed it as well.
I'm also reading the "unofficial" version, which is very interesting as well!

Blackjack I would be interested in getting that book and having a read of it. Love him or hate him Yngwie really helped bring what we all love to do to the forefront for awhile there in the early to mid 80's and is still blazing a trail!
From everything I've read Mozart was a train wreck in his personal life but most of it was overlooked because of his genius. I guess I give Ol' Yng a pass and would still love to meet the guy!

Yngwie's certainly high on my list of guitarists who I've never spoken to or even met that I would like to meet. I have met MAB, Wino, Dale Flood, and Dallas Perkins (Paul Gilbert's roommate at GIT and an amazing shredder in his own right, especially with his sweep picking and 8 finger tapping). So that leaves Yngwie right up there as possibly THE guitarist I'd most like to get the chance to meet and talk to. I'd also be interested in talking to John McLaughlin, Al Dimeola, Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, and Jim Matheos (because of his collaborations with vocalist John Arch on the Arch/Matheos band, Arch's solo EP, and the first 3 Fates Warning albums. I would have loved to have been able to speak with Criss Oliva (R.I.P.) before he passed away. Ronnie James Dio (R.I.P.) is a musician I would have loved to have talked to as well.
