It was said in the forum that 'A New Day' would finally be released on Intermezzo. Many people thought it was going to be an amazing album, and with this song it would be a killer. Now that the album was finally released and was an explosion of heavy rif***e and outstanding solos and melodies, everyone (including me) forgot about 'A New Day'. But after the 1346th time I listened to Intermezzo, hearing that clean acoustic guitar on the Overload Intro was responsible for waking me out of my amnesia. "What happened to 'A New Day'? Haven't someone on the forum state that this song that Michael wrote in the 70's would finally be released on Intermezzo?" Well, I suppose we'll have to wait for the next killer album then.

I remember seeing a post where someone wanted it added to the disc. I also remember a post stating that the cd would only have new material on it. I do not recall a post stating it would be on there.

I think Nick posted something saying that "a little birdie had told him this song would be on Intermezzo".

It was in the plans at one point but it was most likely moved to make room for the longer collaboration songs. There's always the next record.
